Marta Martins Da Silva
Marta Sofia Martins da Silva Trindade (born 25 September 1979) is a Portuguese architect and politician. In the 2024 Portuguese national election she was elected to the Assembly of the Republic as a representative of the right-wing CHEGA party. Early life and education Silva was born in the Portuguese capital of Lisbon on 25 September 1979. She obtained a degree in architecture from the University of Lisbon in 2002. Career After graduating, Silva worked for various architectural companies, with the most recent being one she owns with her husband. Political career At the third national convention of CHEGA in 2021, Silva was invited by the party president, André Ventura, to join its national leadership as one of the three vice-presidents. She also became the party's national local coordinator. Chega (political Party)
Chega (; officially stylised as CHEGA!, , often truncated to CH in visual media) is a national conservative and right-wing populist political party in Portugal, formed in 2019 by André Ventura. It is on the far-right of the political spectrum. Chega won one seat in the Assembly of the Republic in the 2019 election. Since this election, the party has rapidly grown in popularity, gaining significant support for its anti-establishment positions. It was the third most voted party in the elections of 2022 taking 12 seats. It saw a surge in support in the 2024 winning 50 seats, more than quadrupling its previous seat count. It improved its position further in the 2025 election, winning 60 seats and overtaking the Socialist Party's tally to achieve second place.
