Mark Plotkin (; born December 2, 1998) is a Canadian chess player and coach. He holds the FIDE title of International Master. Biography Mark Plotkin was born in Israel to Victor Plotkin, International Master and the captain of the Canadian Olympiad team. Grandmaster (GM) is a Chess title, title awarded to chess players by the world chess organization FIDE. Apart from World Chess Championship, World Champion, Grandmaster is the highest title a chess player can attain. Once achieved, the title is held for life, though exceptionally the title can be revoked for Cheating in chess, cheating. Chess Federation Of Canada
The Chess Federation of Canada or CFC ( French name: ''Fédération canadienne des échecs'') is Canada's national chess organization. Canadian Chess Association, founded in 1872, was replaced in 1932 by the Canadian Chess Federation (CCF), which for the first time included representation from all major cities in Canada. In 1945 the name was changed to avoid confusion with the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation. The CFC organizes tournaments and publishes national ratings.
