Mark Pearson (born 1980) is a London, United Kingdom-based entrepreneur and investor. He founded and served as CEO of Markco Media, a European discount network. Markco Media is the parent company of MyVoucherCodes. In June 2014, Pearson sold Markco Media to the publicly listed mobile payments firm Monitise plc in a reported £55m deal. Pearson is an active investor and mentor. The Sunday Times Rich List 2011 valued his fortune at £60m ($100m). Career When Pearson left school aged 16 he took up a place at a local catering college. He entered and won a nationwide cooking competition, leading to his employment by Claridge’s. Mark Alistair John Pearson (born June 18, 1987) is a Canadian retired field hockey player. He has represented Canada in three Summer Olympics and two World Cups. From 2009, he played for Der Club an der Alster, Hamburg, Germany. International career In 2016, he was named to Canada's Olympic team. In June 2019, he was selected in the Canada squad for the 2019 Pan American Games. They won the silver medal as they lost 5–2 to Argentina in the final. In June 2021, Pearson was named to Canada's 2020 Summer Olympics team. He announced his retirement from the national team in December 2021. Mark Pearson (28 October 1939 – 2 September 2023) was an English footballer who played in the Football League as an inside forward for Manchester United, Sheffield Wednesday, Fulham and Halifax Town. Career Born in Ridgeway, Derbyshire, Pearson joined Manchester United as a trainee in 1955 and signed professional forms two years later. He made his first-team debut as an 18-year-old on 19 February 1958 as part of the makeshift side that beat Sheffield Wednesday in United's first game after the Munich Air Crash. He was involved in two of the three goals, and ''The Times correspondent was impressed: Pearson, nicknamed "Pancho" due to the Mexican appearance that his sideburns gave him, played for the club until 1963, making 80 appearances and scoring 14 goals, when he was sold to Sheffield Wednesday for a £17,000 fee. Mark Anthony Pearson (born 1959) is an Australian politician. He was a Member of the New South Wales Legislative Council from 2015 until 2023, representing the Animal Justice Party. Prior to his election, Pearson served as the Executive Director, Animal Liberation based in Sydney. Early years and animal rights Pearson trained as a nurse and worked as a Clinical Acute Adult Psychiatric Nurse Specialist and as the Team Leader of the Newcastle Community Mental Health Service in .
