Primavera Sound Festival
Primavera Sound (commonly referred to as Primavera) is an annual music festival held at the Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona, Spain, during late May and early June. It was founded in 2001 by Pablo Soler as "a showcase for Spanish noise bands", originally held at the Poble Espanyol before moving to the Parc del Fòrum, a much larger site on the seafront, in 2005. It is one of the largest and most-attended music festivals in Europe and the biggest in the Mediterranean. The festival's image was originally oriented around indie rock, but in recent years has seen a larger presence of genres such as hip hop, electronic dance music and pop. John Elliott (electronic Musician)
John Elliott (born June 22, 1984) is an American multidisciplinary artist from Cleveland, Ohio. A former member of Emeralds, Elliott has been involved in a number of solo projects and collaborations including Imaginary Softwoods, Mist (with Sam Goldberg), Outer Space (with Andrew Veres), and Organic Dial (with Andrew Veres). Elliott also curated the electronic music label Spectrum Spools, as well as Wagon, a label he set up with Emeralds guitarist, Mark McGuire. In 2016, Elliott won the Cleveland Arts Prize for Emerging Artist. On June 1, 2023, Elliott reunited with Emeralds to perform at Primavera Sound in Barcelona. The Afghan Whigs
The Afghan Whigs are an American rock band from Cincinnati, Ohio. They were active from 1986 to 2001 and have since reformed as a band. The group – with core members Greg Dulli (vocals, rhythm guitar), Rick McCollum (lead guitar), and John Curley (bass) – rose up around the grunge movement, evolving from a garage band in the vein of the Replacements to incorporate more R&B and soul influences into their sound and image. Hot Chip is an English synth-pop band formed in London in 2000. The group consists of multi-instrumentalists Alexis Taylor, Joe Goddard (musician), Joe Goddard, Al Doyle, Owen Clarke, and Felix Martin. Steve Hauschildt (born October 24, 1984) is an American electronic musician based in Chicago. He is a member of the band Emeralds and has been releasing solo material since the mid-2000s. Career While performing and recording as a trio, all members of Emeralds released solo material. Hauschildt released two albums under his own name in this period, ''The Summit'' and ''Critique of the Beautiful''. After the folding of Emeralds in 2013, Hauschildt's first widely distributed release arrived in 2011, when Kranky released his full-length ''Tragedy & Geometry''. The album features heavy use of the Prophet '08 synthesizer, and is influenced by 1970s-era Kosmische musik. Its title is taken from the subjects governed by two of the Greek muses, Melpomene and Polyhymnia.
