Mark Hanna
Marcus Alonzo Hanna (September 24, 1837 – February 15, 1904) was an American businessman and Republican politician who served as a United States Senator from Ohio as well as chairman of the Republican National Committee. A friend and political ally of President William McKinley, Hanna used his wealth and business abilities to successfully manage McKinley's presidential campaigns in 1896 and in 1900. Hanna was born in New Lisbon (today Lisbon), Ohio, in 1837. His family moved to the growing city of Cleveland in his teenage years, where he attended high school with John D. Rockefeller, who became a lifelong friend. He was expelled from college, and entered the family mercantile business. He served briefly during the American Civil War and married Charlotte Rhodes. Mark Hanna (screenwriter)
Mark Hanna (January 1, 1917 – October 16, 2003) was an American screenwriter and actor. He was known for writing the screenplays for many science fiction B movies in the 1950s, particularly '' Attack of the 50 Foot Woman''. Hanna's family first moved to Palm Beach County when he was one year old. He attended Palm Beach High School, worked in his father's produce store, and served in the US Navy during World War Two. Hanna then decided to go to Hollywood and changed his name from "Emil" to "Mark". Hanna worked as an actor for several years before trying screenwriting after breaking his leg before he was to appear in the Western ''Backlash''. His first script was ''Requiem for an Outlaw'' based on the Florida Ashley gang. Hanna's first major screenplay was ''Gunslinger'' in 1956. USS ''Crouter'' (DE-11) was an of the United States Navy in commission from 1943 to 1945. The ship was named after Mark Hanna Crouter (1897–1942), U.S. Navy officer and Navy Cross recipient. Namesake Mark Hanna Crouter was born on 3 October 1897 in Baker, Oregon. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy on 7 June 1919. After extensive service at sea and ashore, he served as executive officer on the heavy cruiser . He was killed in the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal. He was posthumously awarded the Navy Cross.
