Marie A. Bernard, M.D. is an American doctor. She was the Chief Officer for Scientific Workforce Diversity at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Prior to this, she was the deputy director of the National Institute on Aging at the NIH, as well as the institutes senior geriatrician, where she oversaw approximately $3.1 billion in research focused on aging and Alzheimer's disease. Bernard served as a co-chair of the Advisory Committee to the NIH Director Working Group on Diversity, the NIH Steering Committee Working Group on DEIA, and the NIH UNITE initiative launched in 2021 to identify and address any structural racism that may exist within NIH and throughout the biomedical and behavioral workforce. She also co-led the development of the ''Fiscal Years 2023 – 2027 NIH-wide Strategic Plan for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA)'' and worked on its implementation. 12th Genie Awards
The 12th Genie Awards were held on November 26, 1991, and honoured Canadian films released in 1990 and 1991."Genies undergo changes". ''The Globe and Mail'', November 26, 1991. The ceremony was hosted by actor Leslie Nielsen Following the disastrous ratings of the 1990 awards, the academy reviewed all aspects of the awards. Audience studies were conducted, production formats and venues were scrutinized, and the adjudication process was revisited. The audience studies confirmed what the academy suspected: that Canadians were not sufficiently familiar with Canadian films. With most films now released each fall, the public needed more time to see films, so the ceremony was moved to an autumn date. There was also a fundamental change in voting procedures; now, peer juries of academy members from each award category would nominate films, and voting members in each category would choose the winners. The number of eligible voters was reduced to 130, and the ceremony's format was changed ...

Bernadette Soubirous
Bernadette Soubirous, Sisters of Charity of Nevers, SCN (; ; ; 7 January 184416 April 1879), also known as Bernadette of Lourdes (religious name, in religion Sister Marie-Bernarde), was a miller's daughter from Lourdes ( in Occitan), in the Departments of France, department of Hautes-Pyrénées in France, and is best known for experiencing apparitions of a "young lady" who asked for a chapel to be built at the nearby cave-grotto. These apparitions occurred between 11 February and 16 July 1858, and the young lady who appeared to her identified herself as the "Immaculate Conception". After a canonical investigation, Soubirous's reports were eventually declared "worthy of belief" on 18 February 1862, and the Marian apparition became known as Our Lady of Lourdes. In 1866, Soubirous joined the Sisters of Charity of Nevers at their convent in Nevers where she spent the last years of her life.
