Margaret Elizabeth Wright (20 February 1940 – 22 June 2012) was a Green Party politician and from 2008 to 2012 a city councillor for Abbey Ward on Cambridge City Council in England. She was one of the Principal Speakers of the Green Party, a post she held with Darren Johnson, from 1999 to 2003. She was several times elected by the Eastern Region of the Green Party to the first place on their list for the European Parliament. Wright was born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, then studied history at Bedford College, London, and teaching at the University of Oxford. Later in life, she also obtained a master's degree in art history from Birkbeck College. Margaret F. Wright ( Nusom; December 15, 1921 — May 11, 1996) was a third-party candidate for President of the United States and a community activist in Los Angeles, California. Wright was a shipyard worker during World War II, and one of the principals of the film '' The Life and Times of Rosie the Riveter.'' In the 1976 United States presidential election, Wright represented the People's Party, and her running mate was Benjamin Spock, who had been their presidential candidate in 1972. Jessie Ace (1860–1936) and Margaret Wright (née Ace; 1854–1933) are known for their rescue of crewmen from the Mumbles Lighthouse, Mumbles lifeboat, which had gone to assist a wrecked German barque during an 1883 storm at Mumbles Head, Wales. Lifeboat rescue Ace and Wright were daughters of the Mumbles Lighthouse keeper Abraham Ace. On List of shipwrecks in 1883#27 January, 27 January 1883, an 885-ton German barque named ''Admiral Prinz Adalbert'' of Danzig was caught in a storm in Mumbles Head and wrecked just below the lighthouse. The Mumbles lifeboat came to rescue the crew. Peggy Wright is a Canadian politician from the Alberta New Democratic Party who was elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta for Edmonton-Beverly-Clareview in the 2023 Alberta general election. As of June 21, 2024, she serves as the Official Opposition critic for Labour and as the Deputy Chair of the Official Opposition caucus. She was the party's provincial president of the youth wing.
