Lady Margaret Elizabeth Montagu Douglas Scott (10 October 1846 – 5 February 1918), later known as Lady Margaret Cameron of Lochiel, was a Scottish aristocrat. Life Lady Margaret Scott was born at Dalkeith Palace in 1846, the second daughter of Walter Montagu Douglas Scott, 5th Duke of Buccleuch, a prominent Scottish peer, politician and landowner, and his wife Lady Charlotte Thynne, daughter of the 2nd Marquess of Bath and Hon. Isabella Byng, daughter of George Byng, 4th Viscount Torrington. The details of her life before marriage are relatively unknown. Lady Margaret Rachel Hamilton-Russell (''née'' Scott; 5 April 1874 – 27 January 1938) was an English golfer who was a dominant player in early women's golf. She won the first three British Ladies Amateurs in 1893, 1894, and 1895. Scott was born at No. 1. Hamilton Place, Mayfair, the fourth of seven children born to John Scott, 3rd Earl of Eldon and his wife Henrietta Turner. Dame Catherine Margaret Mary Scott, (26 April 1922 – 24 February 2019) was a South African-born pioneering ballet dancer who found fame as a teacher, choreographer, and school administrator in Australia. As the first director of the Australian Ballet School, she is recognised as one of the founders of the strong ballet tradition of her adopted country. Margaret Allan Scott (née Bennett; 27 January 1928 – 4 December 2014) was a New Zealand writer, editor and librarian. After her husband's early death in 1960, she trained as a librarian, and was appointed as the first manuscripts librarian at the Alexander Turnbull Library. She was the second recipient of the Katherine Mansfield Menton Fellowship in 1971. Scott completed the transcription and editing of the notebooks of Katherine Mansfield, a task made difficult by Mansfield's eclectic handwriting. Her work led to the publication of five volumes of Mansfield's letters between 1984 and 2008, and two volumes of Mansfield's notebooks in 1997. In 2001 she published her memoir. She was a friend of many literary New Zealanders, including Charles Brasch and Denis Glover, and completed the transcription of Brasch's journals before she died in 2014. Margaret Daphne Scott (20 June 1934 – 29 August 2005) was an Australian author, poet, comedian, educator and public intellectual. Background Margaret, her first husband, playwright Michael Boddy and her first son, Daniel, migrated to Tasmania from the United Kingdom in 1959. Two more children, Kate and Marcus, were born in Tasmania. From 1979, she lived with legal scholar Michael Scott and had her final child, Sarah, as well as becoming the step mother to Jane, Christian and Katharine Scott. The Stone Fleet consisted of a fleet of aging ships (mostly whaleships) purchased in New Bedford and other New England ports, loaded with stone, and sailed south during the American Civil War by the Union Navy for use as blockships. They were to be deliberately sunk at the entrance of Charleston Harbor, South Carolina, in the hope of obstructing blockade runners, then supplying Confederate interests. Although some sank along the way and others were sunk near Tybee Island, Georgia, to serve as breakwaters, wharves for the landing of Union troops, the majority were divided into two lesser fleets.
