Synopsis Jiří Kroupa is a man in his forties who is a team leader in a factory manufacturing agricultural machinery. He has an opportunity for promotion, but for that he needs to obtain a highschool graduation diploma. Oldřich Lipský
Oldřich Lipský (4 July 1924 – 19 October 1986) was a Czech film director and screenwriter. He focused exclusively on filming comedies and his work includes more than twenty films. Among his films with international success are '' Lemonade Joe'' (1964) and '' Happy End'' (1967). His brother was the actor Lubomír Lipský. In addition to his brother, he often collaborated with Miloš Kopecký, Jiří Brdečka, Miloš Macourek, Zdeněk Svěrák and Ladislav Smoljak. Early life and family Oldřich Lipský was born on 4 July 1924 in Pelhřimov. His father was a confectioner and amateur actor. Oldřich had two brothers. His older brother was the actor Lubomír Lipský. His younger brother Dalibor died at the age of 16, but he appeared as an actor in two films. His wife Šárka (1926–2014) was a dancer and choreographer. Josef Abrhám
Josef Abrhám (14 December 1939 – 16 May 2022) was a Czech film and theatre actor. Biography He originally began studying acting at Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava and later moved to Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, where he graduated in 1962. While still a student, he played at the National Theatre, after graduation he performed for three seasons at the Vinohrady Theater. In 1965–1982 he was one of the leading actors in The Drama Club in Prague and has been noted as one of the Czech Republic's best performers. Then he briefly performed at the National Theater, but he ended his long-term commitment in August 1994 and (with two exceptions) quit theatre acting completely. Jiří Schmitzer (born 25 October 1949) is a Czech actor and musician, the son of actor Jiří Sovák. He is a four-time holder of the Czech Lion Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. Biography Career Schmitzer graduated from the Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in 1974, after which he performed at the ''Činoherní studio'' in Ústí nad Labem. From 1985, he was a member of the ''Studio Ypsilon'' ensemble in Liberec. Schmitzer made his television debut in 1966 with the series ''Eliška a její rod''. Ladislav Smoljak
Ladislav Smoljak (9 December 1931 – 6 June 2010) was a Czechs, Czech film and theater director, actor and screenwriter. Biography Smoljak was born in Prague. He tried to study at an art academy but failed the admission process. He went on to study physics and mathematics, and later worked as journalist and scriptwriter. Together with Zdeněk Svěrák he founded the ''Theater of Jára Cimrman'' (''Divadlo Járy Cimrmana'', ''DJC'') in Prague, named after a fictitious genius. Smoljak wrote scripts and directed several films; these became very successful in the Czech Republic. He died of cancer on 6 June 2010 in Kladno.
