Marek Czyż (; born 25 March 1968) is a Polish journalist and news presenter. Biography Marek Czyż was born on 25 March 1968 in Cieszyn, Polish People's Republic, Poland. He has graduated from the University of Silesia in Katowice, University of Silesia in Katowice. He started his media career in the mid-1990s at Katowice-based TOP Radio. Before that, he spent several years co-hosting the student programme. From 1996 to 2008, he worked in Telewizja Polska (TVP), where he worked, among others, on programmes ''Monitor Wiadomości'' and ''Gość Jedynki'' in TVP1, various journalistic programmes in TVP3, ''Aktualności'' in TVP3 Katowice, and various news programmes dedicated to the Poland in the European Union, accession of Poland to the European Union in 2004. Cieszyn
Cieszyn ( , ; ; ) is a border town in southern Poland on the east bank of the Olza River, and the administrative seat of Cieszyn County, Silesian Voivodeship. The town has 33,500 inhabitants ( and lies opposite Český Těšín in the Czech Republic. ''Wiadomości'' (, ) is a Polish daily television news program that was produced by public-service broadcaster Telewizja Polska (TVP) and was broadcast on TVP1 from 18 November 1989 until 19 December 2023. The main edition was broadcast daily at 7:30p.m. CET. It premiered on 18 November 1989 and replaced the '' Dziennik Telewizyjny'' (), which was aired during the communist era for over 31 years and was considered to be one of the communist government's mouthpiece. In September 2020, ''Wiadomości'' was the most popular news program in Poland, with an average of 2.66 million viewers a day. Radio Zet () is a Polish commercial radio station launched in 1990, as the second privately owned radio in Poland. Since 2023, its majority shareholder has been Agora (company), Agora SA. History Radio Zet was established in Warsaw, and aired its first broadcast on the 28th of September 1990. The station's founder and its first editor-in-chief was a prominent journalist Andrzej Woyciechowski. In the first weeks of the radio station's operation, the slogan and audio signal (identifier) “Radio Gazeta” could be heard.
