Marder (infantry Fighting Vehicle)
The Schützenpanzer Marder 1 (; ''"Schützen (military), Schützen" carrying Armoured fighting vehicle, "Armour"-ed fighting vehicle "Marten 1"'') is a tracked German infantry fighting vehicle designed for use with the West German Panzergrenadiere units, mechanized infantry specialized for IFV combat. It has been operated by the German Army as the main Panzergrenadiere IFV since the 1970s through to the present day. Developed as part of the rebuilding of West Germany's armoured fighting vehicle industry, the Marder has proven to be a successful and solid infantry fighting vehicle design. While it used to include a few unique features, such as a fully remote machine gun on the rear deck and gun ports on the sides for infantry to fire through, these features have been deleted or streamlined in later upgrade packages to bring it more in line with modern IFV design. Marten
A marten is a weasel-like mammal in the genus ''Martes'' within the subfamily Guloninae, in the family Mustelidae. They have bushy tails and large paws with partially retractile claws. The fur varies from yellowish to dark brown, depending on the species; it is valued by animal trappers for the fur trade. Martens are slender, agile animals, which are adapted to living in the taiga, and inhabit coniferous and northern deciduous forests across the Northern Hemisphere. Mowag is a Swiss company founded in 1950, which develops, designs and produces armoured fighting vehicles for military applications in both land-only and amphibious configurations. Hanomag
Hanomag (Hannoversche Maschinenbau AG, ) was a German producer of steam locomotives, tractors, trucks and military vehicles in Hanover. The Schützenpanzer Puma (SPz Puma), meaning “ Schützen- AFV Puma”, is a German infantry fighting vehicle (IFV), per the ''Panzergrenadier''-doctrine, designed to replace the aging Marder IFVs currently in service with the German Army. TAM (tank)
The ''Tanque Argentino Mediano'' (TAM; English: ''Argentine Medium Tank'') is a main battle tank in service with the Argentine Army, can be called an MBT because TAM already has the appropriate standardization for an MBT even though it does not follow NATO standards. Lacking the experience and resources to design a tank, the Argentine Ministry of Defense contracted German company Thyssen-Henschel. The vehicle was developed by a German and Argentine team of engineers, and was based on the German Marder infantry fighting vehicle chassis. The TAM met the Argentine Army's requirement for a modern, lightweight and fast tank with a low silhouette and sufficient firepower to defeat contemporary armored threats.
