Marcus Plínio Diniz Paixão (born 1 August 1987), commonly known as Marcus Diniz, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a defender for Dunărea Călărași. Club career Diniz started his career at Caxias Futebol Clube, of the Itararé quarter. He spent nine years there before transferring to the youth system of Vasco da Gama. He then moved to Vitória, eventually returning to Caxias in 2004. AC Milan He signed with AC Milan in late 2004 and has been a featured player in Milan's youth system. Milan decided to loan him to Serie C1 club Monza to get some first team experience. Livorno At the beginning of the 2008–09 season he was transferred at Serie B club Livorno, on a co-ownership deal, for €300,000. In January he was sent on loan to Crotone. Vitória (; ) is the capital of the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil. It is located on a small island within a bay where a number of rivers meet the sea. It was founded in 1551. Co-ownership is a system whereby two football clubs own the contract of a player jointly, although the player is only registered to play for one club. It is not a universal system, but is used in some countries, including Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. It was formerly commonplace in Italy, though the practice has now been abolished there. This type of deal differs from third-party ownership, in that in the latter, the player's contract is owned by a non-footballing entity, such as a management company. Italy Co-ownership deals were common in Italian football, before being banned at the end of the 2014–15 season. The Lega Italiano Calcio Professionistico (Italian for Professional Football Italian League), commonly known as Lega Pro (Pro League), is the governing body that runs the third tier of professional football competitions in Italy, the Serie C. It used several names in the past, including Lega Professionisti Serie C. It is a full member of European Leagues. History The league was created in 1959 as Lega Nazionale Semiprofessionisti by the FIGC Commissioner Bruno Zauli on the base of the old Lega IV Serie.
