Mantra (comics)
Mantra is an American comic book series written by Mike W. Barr, mainly penciled by Terry Dodson and published by Malibu Comics in the mid-1990s, until it was purchased by Marvel Comics. Adam Hughes is credited for the character designs. After the purchase, the title was canceled after 24 issues and revamped in a new version, with a new protagonist. Mantra is the name of the lead character, an Ultra (superhero) within Malibu's Ultraverse line of comics. Publication history Mantra made his first appearance in ''Mantra'' #1, dated July 1993, written by Mike W. Barr and illustrated by Terry Dodson. As part of the Ultraverse imprint, the comic was set within a shared universe of super-powered beings conceptualized by writers and artists of Malibu comics. Tom Grummett
Thomas Grummett (born 1959) is a Canadian comic book artist and penciller. He is best known for his work as penciller on titles such as '' The New Titans'', '' The Adventures of Superman'', ''Superboy'', '' Power Company'', '' Robin'', '' New Thunderbolts'', and '' Heroes''. Career DC Comics Tom Grummett began providing finished artwork over George Pérez's layouts on ''The New Titans'' #58 (Sept. 1989). He worked with Pérez and Marv Wolfman on the "A Lonely Place of Dying" storyline, which introduced Tim Drake as Robin. Grummett remained on ''The New Titans'' after Pérez's departure and helped Wolfman revitalize the title. He began a long association with the Superman franchise when he drew ''Action Comics'' #665 (May 1991) and then helped writer Louise Simonson and artist Jon Bogdanove launch a new title, '' Superman: The Man of Steel'' in July 1991. Loki (Marvel Comics)
Loki Laufeyson is a character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Stan Lee, scripter Larry Lieber, and penciller Jack Kirby, he is based on the Norse mythology, Norse mythological deity Loki, of the same name. Joe Quesada
Joseph Quesada (; born January 12, 1962'' Comics Buyer's Guide'' #1650; February 2009; page 107) is an American comic book artist, writer, editor, and television producer. He became known in the 1990s for his work on various Valiant Comics books, such as '' Ninjak'' and '' Solar, Man of the Atom''. He later worked on numerous books for DC Comics and Marvel Comics, such as '' Batman: Sword of Azrael'' and ''X-Factor'', before forming his own company, Event Comics, where he published his creator-owned character, Ash. In 1998 he became an editor of Marvel Comics' Marvel Knights line, before becoming editor-in-chief of the company in 2000. Steve Englehart (; born April 22, 1947) is an American writer of comic books and novels. He is best known for his work at Marvel Comics and DC Comics in the 1970s and 1980s. His pseudonyms have included John Harkness and Cliff Garnett. Early life Steve Englehart majored in psychology at Wesleyan University, where he was a member of The Kappa Alpha Society, earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1969. Ultraforce
The Ultraforce is a fictional superhero group that appears in American comic books published by Malibu, and later Marvel. The purpose of the group was to protect the public and keep other "Ultras" (superheroes) from becoming unruly. The group consists of various Ultras in Malibu's Ultraverse, including the super-strong Prime; Hardcase, one of the first public Ultras and the most famous; Prototype, Ultra-Tech's armored spokesperson; Topaz, warrior queen of Gwendor; the undead Ghoul, the last surviving member of the Exiles; and the mysterious Contrary, who organized the team and provided their technology.
