Mansour Bin Muqrin Al Saud
Mansour bin Muqrin Al Saud (1974 – 5 November 2017; ) was a Saudi people, Saudi businessman, member of the House of Saud, and advisor at the Court of the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia. In April 2015, he was appointed advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques with the rank of minister. He was the son of Muqrin bin Abdulaziz, Prince Muqrin, former Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia. He was one of the grandsons of Saudi Arabia's founder King Abdulaziz. He was killed in mysterious circumstances when his helicopter crashed near the country's border with Yemen on 5 November 2017, hours after a 2017 Saudi Arabian purge, major purge of the kingdom's political and business leadership. The House of Saud ( ) is the ruling royal family of Saudi Arabia. 2017–2019 Saudi Arabian Purge
The 2017–2019 Saudi Arabian purge was the mass arrest of a number of prominent Saudi Arabian princes, government ministers, and business people in Saudi Arabia on 4 November 2017. It took place weeks after the creation of an anti-corruption committee led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The purge helped centralize political powers in the hands of Saudi ruler Mohammed bin Salman and undermine the pre-existing structure of consensus-based governance among Saudi elites. The arrests resulted in the final sidelining of the faction of King Abdullah, and Mohammed bin Salman's complete consolidation of control of all three branches of the security forces.
