Manika Grace Ward (born August 2, 1993), known professionally as Manika ( ), is an American singer, songwriter, rapper, TV-Host, and author. Early life and education Manika was born in Las Vegas to Grace Ward and Wallace Ward in 1993. She described herself in 2011 interview with ''Las Vegas Review-Journal'' as "part Filipino, part Japanese, part Chinese, part Malaysian and part Spanish". As a child, she taught herself to play the piano and guitar. Aged 17, Manika graduated as valedictorian from Henderson International School in Henderson, Nevada. Manika Batra (born 15 June 1995) is an Indian table tennis player. She is a triple gold medalist at the South Asian Games, a double gold medalist at the Commonwealth Games, and a bronze medalist at the Asian Games, Asian Championships, and Asian Cup. She is India's number two in women and her world rank is 27 as of Nov 2024. Batra is the first Indian woman to have won a bronze at the Asian Cup. Manika was a historical figure in the Jagannath culture, popularly called as Manika Gauduni ( Manika), it is believed that she offered yoghurt to Lord Jagannath and Balabhadra when they were going to Kanchi expedition of Gajapati King. Story of Manika Manika was born in a cowherd (Gopala) family, who had the job of selling milk & yoghurt everyday. She was also a devotee of lord Jagannath and had a dream from childhood of giving yoghurt to the Lord. One day the Gajapati king of Kalinga (now Odisha) started an expedition to Kanchi and prayed lord for help.
