Manghopir Town
Manghopir Town, () is a neighbourhood located in the north-western part of Karachi, in Pakistan's Sindh province. It is one of the three towns of Orangi District in Karachi Division, that was previously part of Gadap Town until 2011. Now it is one of the three towns of Orangi District of Karachi. Manghopir Town has a population of 1.8 million, as of the 2023 Pakistani census. Demographics Manghopir is a rural area of Karachi. The area has the oldest Sufi shrines in the city named after a Saint Saqib, hot sulphur springs that are believed to have curative powers, and many crocodiles - believed locally to be the sacred disciples of Pir Mangho. Balochs often call this place as ‘Mangi’ or Garm-aab/Sard-aab (due to the presence of the hot & cold springs). There are several ethnic groups in Manghopir Town. Towns In Karachi
Karachi, which is the most populated city in Pakistan, was a federation of eighteen autonomous boroughs, called "Towns," that made up the City District of Karachi from 2001 until 2011. Under this now-defunct system, Karachi had a local government system, with a mayor empowered to make decisions in regards to city-planning and administration of local services. Islam is the largest and the state religion of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Saraiki Language
Saraiki ( ', ; also spelt Siraiki, or Seraiki) is an Indo-Aryan language of the Lahnda group. "The existence of Lahnda as a separate language has long been recognised under various names such as Jatki, Multani, Hindki or Hindko and Western Panjabi....it is called Multani, but this name properly applies only to the form of Lahnda spoken around Multan and the neighbourhood." Balochi Language
Balochi (, romanized: ) is a Northwestern Iranian language, spoken primarily in the Balochistan region of Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan. In addition, there are speakers in Oman, the Arab states of the Persian Gulf, Turkmenistan, East Africa and in diaspora communities in other parts of the world. Muhajir (Pakistan)
The Muhajir people (also spelled Mohajir and Mahajir) () are a multi-origin ethnic group of Pakistan. They are the Muslim immigrants of various ethnic groups and regional origins, who migrated from various regions of India after the 1947 independence to settle in the newly independent state of Pakistan, and their descendants. A significant population of the community settled in Karachi and other major urban centres of Pakistan. The total population of Muhajrs worldwide is estimated to be around 15 million, and the overwhelming majority of this figure (14.7 million) is located in Pakistan, according to the 2017 Pakistani census.
