Man In The Mirror (The Avengers)
"Man in the Mirror" is the twenty-second episode of the second series of the 1960s cult British spy-fi television series ''The Avengers'', starring Patrick Macnee and Julie Stevens. It was first broadcast in the Teledu Cymru region of the ITV network on Friday 22 February 1963. ABC Weekend TV, who produced the show for ITV, broadcast it the next day in its own regions. The episode was directed by Kim Mills and written by Geoffrey Orme and Anthony Terpiloff. Plot A cipher expert commits suicide at an amusement park, however Venus Smith discovers that she has taken a photograph of the man several days later, apparently very much alive. The Avengers (TV Series)
''The Avengers'' is a British espionage television series, created in 1961, that ran for 161 episodes until 1969. It initially focused on David Keel ( Ian Hendry), aided by John Steed ( Patrick Macnee). Hendry left after the first series; Steed then became the main character, partnered with a succession of assistants. His most famous assistants were intelligent, stylish and assertive women: Cathy Gale ( Honor Blackman), Emma Peel ( Diana Rigg), and Tara King ( Linda Thorson). Dresses and suits for the series were made by Pierre Cardin. The series ran from 1961 until 1969, screening as one-hour episodes for its entire run. The pilot episode, " Hot Snow", aired on 7 January 1961. The final episode, "Bizarre", aired on 21 April 1969 in the United States, and on 17 May 1969 in the United Kingdom. Spy-fi is a subgenre of spy fiction that includes elements of science fiction, and is often associated with the Cold War. Features of spy-fi include the effects of technology on the espionage trade and the technological gadgets used by the characters, even though the technologies and gadgets portrayed are well beyond current scientific reality. David Graham (actor)
David Graham (born 11 July 1925) is an English retired actor. He is best known for voicing the Daleks in '' Doctor Who'', Gordon Tracy, Brains, Aloysius Parker and Kyrano in '' Thunderbirds'' and Grandpa Pig in ''Peppa Pig''. He played the role of Big Brother in the "1984" television Super Bowl advert to introduce the Apple Macintosh computer. ''I Know Where I'm Going!'' is a 1945 romance film by the British-based filmmakers Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger. "I Know Where I'm Going" is a traditional Scottish (some sources say Irish) ballad about a wealthy love-struck young woman pining for her "bonnie" lover Johnny who some say has a bad reputation. It has been noted since the early nineteenth century. It is Roud number 5701. In some versions the lover is said to be 'black'. This may refer to him being an outlaw or of bad reputation. Julie Stevens (British Actress)
Julie Stevens (born Julia Bullas; born 20 December 1936) is an English actress, presenter and singer, best known in Britain for her appearances on children's television. Career Stevens was born in Prestwich and attended Stand Grammar School. She trained as a nurse at Manchester Royal Infirmary, after starting her television career as a comedienne in TV show ''Bid for Fame''. She was a regular on '' Play School'' and ''Play Away'', and provided vocals for the schools television series ''Look and Read''. During the 1962–63 season she played Venus Smith, an occasional partner of John Steed in the TV series, '' The Avengers'', alternating with Honor Blackman's Cathy Gale. Patrick Macnee
Daniel Patrick Macnee (6 February 1922 – 25 June 2015) was a British film and television actor. After serving in the Royal Navy during World War II, he began his acting career in Canada. Despite having some small film roles, Macnee spent much of his early career in playing small roles in American and Canadian television shows. In 1961, he landed the role of secret agent John Steed in the British television series ''The Avengers''. The show was a success running for eight seasons from 1961 to 1969 and was revived in 1976 as ''The New Avengers''.
