Artificial
Artificiality (the state of being artificial or manmade) is the state of being the product of intentional human manufacture, rather than occurring nature, naturally through processes not involving or requiring human activity. Connotations Artificiality often carries with it the implication of being false, counterfeit, or deceptive. The philosopher Aristotle wrote in his ''Rhetoric (Aristotle), Rhetoric'': However, artificiality does not necessarily have a negative connotation, as it may also reflect the ability of humans to replicate forms or functions arising in nature, as with an artificial heart or artificial intelligence. Political scientist and artificial intelligence expert Herbert A. Simon observes that "some artificial things are imitations of things in nature, and the imitation may use either the same basic materials as those in the natural object or quite different materials.Herbert A. Simon, ''The Sciences of the Artificial'' (1996), p. 4. Simon distinguishes between ...

Man-made Hazard
Anthropogenic hazards are hazards caused by human action or inaction. They are contrasted with natural hazards. Anthropogenic hazards may adversely affect humans, other organisms, biomes, and ecosystems. They can even cause an omnicide. The frequency and severity of hazards are key elements in some risk analysis methodologies. Hazards may also be described in relation to the impact that they have. A hazard only exists if there is a pathway to exposure. As an example, the center of the earth consists of molten material at very high temperatures which would be a severe hazard if contact was made with the core. However, there is no feasible way of making contact with the core, therefore the center of the earth currently poses no hazard. Anthropogenic hazards can be grouped into societal hazards (criminality, civil disorder, terrorism, war, industrial hazards, engineering hazards, power outage, fire), hazards caused by transportation and environmental hazards. Societal hazards The ...

Man Made Monster
''Man-Made Monster'' is a 1941 American science-fiction horror film directed by George Waggner and produced by Jack Bernhard for Universal Pictures. Filmed in black-and-white, it stars Lon Chaney, Jr. (in his horror film debut) and Lionel Atwill. ''Man-Made Monster'' was re-released under various titles including ''Electric Man'' and ''The Mysterious Dr. R''. Realart Pictures re-released the film in 1953 under the title ''The Atomic Monster'' as a double feature with '' The Flying Saucer'' (1950). On the film's original main title, there is no hyphen; it's simply ''Man Made Monster''. The plot resembles '' The Invisible Ray'' (1936), '' The Walking Dead'' (1936), and two decades later '' Indestructible Man'' (1956); that much later feature starred Chaney but was not directly inspired by ''Man-Made Monster''. Plot A tragic accident occurs when a bus hits a high power line. The incident has claimed the lives of all on board, except for one Dan McCormick, who survives becaus ...

Man Made Machine was an American hard rock band from Phoenix, Arizona. The band released its debut album ''Become'' in 2011 with production by Chad Gray and Greg Tribbett in addition to mixing by Jeremy Parker. History The origins of the ensemble can be traced back to Arizona band The Cover Up. Lead vocalist Joe Cotela stated that things with The Cover Up were approaching a standstill, and that they were performing music swayed by Every Time I Die. Because the band was dissatisfied with Epic Records not properly promoting the album, the band decided to move on. On October 2, 2015, Man Made Machine performed their final concert, and released ''B-Sides and Rarities'', a compilation album of 34 songs. Shortly after performing their final show, lead vocalist Joe Cotela and percussionist Matthew Reinhard formed a new ensemble named DED along with guitarist David Ludlow and bassist Kyle Koelsch. In December 2016, the band published a music video for "FMFY", the first song port ...

Man Made Object
''Man Made Object '' is the third album by jazz piano trio GoGo Penguin. It's their first of a three-album deal with the jazz label Blue Note. Critical reception In his review, John Fordham said in The Guardian that "It still feels like clubbing music, but plenty of house and techno fans might be surprised by how good at partying three closet-jazzers can be." Marcus J. Moore said in Pitchfork that "''Man Made Object'' is tailor-made for laid-back enjoyment, to be consumed at a moderate volume without much fuss." The album charted at number 72 on the UK Albums Chart in February 2016.
