"Mama (Loves a Crackhead)" is the fourth single by British rapper and songwriter Plan B, taken from his debut album '' Who Needs Actions When You Got Words'', which was released two weeks prior to the single. "Mama (Loves a Crackhead)" was the first single to be entirely produced by Plan B himself. "Mama" was released on 10 July 2006, and it just missed out on a UK Top 40 placing, peaking at #41. The song "tells the sad story of his mother's relationship with a crack addict". The music video for "Mama (Loves a Crackhead)" was directed by Dawn Shadforth. The song samples "I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)" by Hall & Oates and a remix version featuring Hall & Oates is also featured on his Paint It Blacker mixtape. Benjamin Paul Ballance-Drew (born 22 October 1983), better known by his stage name Plan B, is an English rapper, singer, songwriter, actor and filmmaker. He first emerged as a rapper, releasing his debut album, '' Who Needs Actions When You Got Words'', in 2006. His second studio album, '' The Defamation of Strickland Banks'' (2010), was a soul and R&B album, and debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart. He has also collaborated with other artists such as Chase & Status, most notably on the 2009 top ten single " End Credits". The Earlies
The Earlies are a band formed by Christian Madden and Giles Hatton from Lancashire, England, and Brandon Carr and John Mark Lapham from the United States. They are notable for blending elements from a wide range of musical genres and have been described as both "a very English kind of folk-psychedelia... with a smattering of Beach Boys harmonies" by ''The Independent'', and "country-meets-prog-meets-electronica symphonies" by ''The Guardian''.
