Malón (band)
Malón is a thrash metal band from Argentina that was formed in 1995 by Claudio O'Connor, Antonio Romano, Claudio Strunz (all ex- Hermética members), and Karlos Cuadrado. History 1995–1998: Early years and first albums Various internal conflicts led to the dissolution of Hermética in late of 1994. Claudio O'Connor, Antonio Romano and Claudio Strunz created Malón, with bassist Carlos Kuadrado. They played their first gig at Cemento. Meanwhile, Ricardo Iorio, the fourth member of Hermética, formed the band Almafuerte, which has a sharp rivalry with Malón. In 1995, the band released their first studio album, ''Espíritu combativo'' (''"Combative Spirit"''). They released their second album, ''Justicia o resistencia'' (''"Justice or Resistance"''), a year later. La Renga is a hard rock Argentine band, formed in 1988. They had moderate success with the albums ''A Dónde Me Lleva La Vida'' and '' Bailando en una pata'', between 1993 and 1995, but it was the release of Despedazado por Mil Partes, in 1996, that made them nationally famous. With the releases of '' La Renga'' in 1998 and '' La Esquina del Infinito'' the following year, they gained some international fame, touring and doing concerts in Uruguay, Chile, Paraguay, Spain, Mexico, the United States and other countries of Latin America. Reception ''Espíritu combativo'' was selected as the Argentine album of the year by the readers of the '' Madhouse'' magazine. They also included three songs in the top six songs of the year: "Castigador por herencia" (ranked #2), "Malón Mestizo" (ranked #3) and "Síntoma de la infección" (ranked #5, in a tie with "Sentir Indiano" by Almafuerte). Megadeth is an American thrash metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1983 by vocalist/guitarist Dave Mustaine. O'Connor (band)
O'Connor is an Argentinean hard rock band founded on 1998 by Claudio O'Connor and Hernán García after leaving the band Malón. History O'Connor was created in February 1998 when Claudio O'Connor was still member of Malón as his first idea was to have a parallel personal project to Malón. For unknown factors occurred that year, O'Connor decided to leave Malón and started to give life to the project of his new band; ''"The project was always very well thought, very consistent, I always had in mind to make progress on this project"'', Claudio commented. Todos Tus Muertos (''All Your Dead'', in English) is a rasta-punk band from Argentina formed in Buenos Aires, in 1985. The longtime line-up comprised by a young vocalist Fidel Nadal, Horacio "Gamexane" Villafañe on guitar, Felix Gutiérrez on bass, and drummer Pablo Potenzoni. They achieved international success throughout the 1990s. The band was part from the second Argentine punk movement that emerged during the mid-1980s. Attaque 77 ("Attack 77"), sometimes stylized as A77aque, is an Argentine punk rock group. The band was formed in 1987 as a group of friends who got together to play their favorite songs, most of them by The Ramones, their favorite band and the one that influenced them the most. They started writing songs in the same punk rock style, with lyrics with proletarian content (about exploited factory workers, etc.), and wore denim jackets, which became one of their hallmarks in their beginnings. Los Piojos
Los Piojos were an Argentine rock band. Extremely popular, it became one of the seminal bands of the 1990s Argentine music scene. Unlike most suburban outfits, however, their style evolved significantly with each successive album, not only developing a unique style for the band but also incorporating elements of murga, candombe, and tango to an electric guitar base. This plus frontman Ciro's songwriting has made them one of the most popular bands in modern Argentine rock, with a strong following across Latin America and Europe, unusual for a band in their subgenre of Argentine rock.
