Malvina is a feminine given name derived from the Scottish Gaelic ''Mala-mhìn'', meaning "smooth brow". It was popularized by the 18th century Scottish poet James Macpherson. Other names popularised by Macpherson became popular in Scandinavia on account of Napoleon, an admirer of Macpherson's Ossianic poetry, who was the godfather of several children of Jean Baptiste Jules Bernadotte, an officer of his who ruled Norway and Sweden in the early 19th century. Malvina is an unincorporated community located in Bolivar County, Mississippi Bolivar County ( ), officially the County of Bolivar, is a county located on the western border of the U.S. state of Mississippi. Originally named "Phalia", the town was established in 1887 by Jett Dent, who became the first postmaster. Dent owned a logging company and sawmill, as well as a flat boat with which he plied the waters of the Bogue Phalia, which ran through Phalia. Phalia was a busy logging town, and the Bogue Phalia was used to run log rafts south to Pace to be milled. Nicola Vaccai
Nicola Vaccai (15 March 1790 – 5 or 6 August 1848) was an Italian composer, particularly of operas, and a singing teacher. Life and career as a composer Born at Tolentino, he grew up in Pesaro, and studied music there until his parents sent him to Rome to study law. Having no intention of becoming a lawyer, he took voice lessons and eventually studied counterpoint with Giuseppe Jannaconi, an important Roman composer. When Vaccai turned twenty one, he went to Naples and became a disciple of Paisiello, whose '' Barber of Seville'' was considered a comic masterpiece until Rossini's ''Barber'' swept it from the stage 35 years later. Vaccai launched his career in Venice, initially earning his living by writing ballets and teaching voice. He had his first operatic success with ''I solitari di Scozia'' in Naples in 1815. West Falkland () is the second largest of the Falkland Islands in the South Atlantic. It is a hilly island, separated from East Falkland by the Falkland Sound. Its area is , 37% of the total area of the islands. Its coastline is long. Population The island has fewer than 200 people, scattered around the coastline. The largest settlement is Port Howard on the east coast, which has an airstrip. Other settlements include Albemarle, Chartres, Dunnose Head, Fox Bay, Fox Bay West, Hill Cove, Port Stephens, and Roy Cove, most of which are linked by road and also have airstrips and harbours.
