Malton is a neighbourhood in the northeastern part of the city of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, located to the northwest of Toronto. Malton is bounded by Highway 427 to the east, the Brampton city limits (a Canadian National Railway (CN) rail line) to the north, Airport Road to the west, and a second CN line and Toronto Pearson International Airport to the south. Malton is unique in that it does not adjoin any other Mississauga neighbourhood, being separated by the airport and extensive industrial areas. All of the roads in this area are named after cities in the United Kingdom. Mimico Creek flows through Malton. __NOTOC__ Thomas Malton (1748 – 7 March 1804; also known as Thomas Malton the Younger), was an English painter of topography, topographical and architectural views, and an engraver. J. M. W. Turner and Thomas Girtin were amongst his pupils. He is designated "the younger" to differentiate him from his father Thomas Malton, the elder, Thomas Malton, the Elder. Life and work Malton was born in London, the son of Thomas Malton the Elder (1726–1801), a notable architectural technical drawing, draughtsman and writer on geometry. He was with his father during the latter's residence in Dublin, and then passed three years in the office of James Gandon the architect, in London. In 1774 Malton received a premium from the Society of Arts. He entered the Royal Academy and in 1782 gained a gold medal for his design for a theatre. Malton GO Station
Malton GO Station is a train and bus station in the GO Transit network, located near Toronto Pearson International Airport, in the community of Malton in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. It is a stop on the Kitchener line, and is a flag stop for Via Rail trains operating between Toronto, London and Sarnia. History The original site of Malton railway station was approximately west of the current GO Transit facility, where Scarboro Street crosses the tracks. The first station was a wood-frame structure built in 1856 by the Grand Trunk Railway (GTR), which was superseded by a second frame building in 1912. Ownership of the station was transferred to Canadian National Railway in 1920 when they acquired the GTR and they demolished that station in 1973. GO Transit constructed a completely new building and platforms, south of Derry Road and east of Airport Road, for the introduction of GO Train service in 1974. ''Urban Dead'' was a free-to-play HTML/text-based massively multiplayer online role-playing game created by British developer Kevan Davis. Set in a quarantined region of the fictional city of Malton, it dealt with the aftermath of a zombie outbreak. Players entered the game either as a survivor or a zombie, each with different abilities and limitations. James Malton
James Malton (1761–1803) was an Irish engraver and watercolourist, who once taught geometry and perspective. He worked briefly as a draughtsman in the office of the celebrated Irish architect James Gandon. He is best known for a series of prints, published in the 1790s as '' A Picturesque and Descriptive View of the City of Dublin'', commonly known as ''Malton's Views of Dublin''. Early life Born in 1761, James Malton was the son of the English architectural draughtsman Thomas Malton the elder and brother of Thomas Malton the younger. He moved to Ireland with his father and was living in Dublin by the 1780s. He was employed as a draughtsman in the office of the architect James Gandon for nearly three years during the building of the Custom House (built between 1781 and 1791), but was eventually dismissed.
