A shopping mall (or simply mall) is a large indoor shopping center, usually Anchor tenant, anchored by department stores. The term ''mall'' originally meant pedestrian zone, a pedestrian promenade with shops along it, but in the late 1960s, it began to be used as a generic term for the large enclosed shopping centers that were becoming increasingly commonplace. In the United Kingdom and other countries, shopping malls may be called ''shopping centres''. ''Mall: Music from the Motion Picture'' is the original motion picture soundtrack for the 2014 American drama film '' Mall'', consisting of songs written, recorded and performed by Chester Bennington, Dave Farrell, Joe Hahn and Mike Shinoda (from American rock band Linkin Park) with Alec Puro, drummer of American industrial rock band Deadsy. It was released through Warner Bros. and Machine Shop on December 12, 2014. ''Mall'' is a 2014 American thriller film based on a novel of the same name written by Eric Bogosian. It was released on June 18, 2014, in France, on July 16 in Sweden, and on October 17 in North America. The film is directed by Linkin Park turntablist Joe Hahn, with Vincent D'Onofrio serving as executive producer. D'Onofrio has also worked as an actor in the film as Danny. Jamal Rocker (born June 14, 1975), known professionally as Mac Mall, is an American rapper from the San Francisco Bay Area who became known in the mid-late 1990s. Mac Mall signed with the record label, Young Black Brotha Records, and later came to own the label for the production of his own albums, and those of associates. The music video for one of Mac Mall's first singles, "Ghetto Theme" (1993), was directed by Tupac Shakur. He was also longtime friends with Mac Dre, who was his mentor early on in his career. Mall Valk (née Mall Sooster; June 2, 1935 – October 12, 1976) was an Estonian ceramist. Early life and education Mall Valk was born in Ühtri, Estonia as the daughter of the teachers Julius Sooster (1902–1942) and Elvi Sooster (1909–1978). When she was six years old, her father was executed by the NKVD in Irkutsk. In 1961, she graduated from the State Art Institute of the Estonian SSR (now the Estonian Academy of Arts). Career In the 1960s and 1970s, Valk created humorous and sometimes grotesque plastic works based on situations and puns in ceramic. She was one of the ceramists that executed a panel in the Central Library of the Estonian Academy of Sciences in 1964 based on a design by Lepo Mikko. She died of lung cancer in Tallinn in 1976. Mall Vaasma (22 February 1945 – 4 December 2009) was one of Estonia's top mycologists. She graduated from the University of Tartu in 1974 with a degree in botany. After her graduation, she worked as a senior lab assistant for Department of Mycology at the Estonian Institute of Zoology and Botany from 1973 and at the Natural History Museum of the University of Tartu from 2008 until her death in 2009 after being struck by a motorist while crossing the road in Tartu. Mall Nukke
Mall Nukke (born December 6, 1964) is an Estonian artist. A printmaker by training, she is primarily known for her paintings, collages and installations influenced by pop art. Mall Nukke emerged on the Estonian art scene in the early 1990s, her work at the period can be seen as commentary of nascent mass culture and consumer society in newly independent Estonia. Her early collages combined various cultural references and created new media characters based on real entertainers and public figures. Since the 2000s, Mall Nukke has concentrated on creating photo-manipulations and mixed media paintings inspired by Eastern Orthodox icon art.
