Malick M'Baye (Scouting)
Malick M'Baye, born in French West Africa, was the Executive Secretary to the Director General of UNESCO, and served as the National and International Trainer of the Confédération Sénégalaise du Scoutisme, as well as an advisor to the World Organization of the Scout Movement on its relationship with UNESCO. He was a member of the ''Eclaireurs de France d'Afrique Occidentale'' and later of the Éclaireuses et Éclaireurs du Sénégal. Confédération Sénégalaise Du Scoutisme
The Confédération Sénégalaise du Scoutisme, the national federation of several Scouting organizations of Senegal, was founded in 1930, and became a member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement in 1963. The coeducational Confédération Sénégalaise du Scoutisme has 9,966 members as of 2011. The Senegalese Scout Confederation is composed of two associations, Association des Scouts et Guides du Sénégal and the Éclaireuses et Éclaireurs du Sénégal. Both associations are open to boys and girls of any religion. There are sometimes joint leader training courses. Units are mixed at Cub and Rover level only. The World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM ) is the largest and, after the Order of World Scouts (formed in 1911), is the second-oldest international organization in the Scout Movement, having been established in 1922. It has 176 members. These members are national scout organizations that founded WOSM or have subsequently been recognised by WOSM, which collectively have around 43 million participants. Its operational headquarters is in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, although it is legally based in Geneva, Switzerland. The Bronze Wolf Award is an award presented by the World Organization of the Scout Movement for outstanding service by an individual to the Scout Movement. Just over 400 people have received the Bronze Wolf since its creation in 1935. WOSM has restricted the number of recipients during the award’s history in order to maintain its significance. Currently, the award is limited to approximately one recipient for every two million members worldwide. The award itself consists of a bronze wolf pendant hung on a dark green ribbon bordered by two narrow stripes of yellow. History WOSM first considered an international Scouting award in 1924.
