Maldaha Uttar Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 543 Lok Sabha, parliamentary constituencies in India. All the seven assembly segments of No. 7 Maldaha Uttar Lok Sabha constituency are in Malda district of West Bengal. As per order of the Delimitation Commission in respect of the boundary delimitation, delimitation of constituencies in the West Bengal, Malda Lok Sabha constituency ceased to exist from 2009 and two new ones came into being: Maldaha Uttar Lok Sabha constituency and Maldaha Dakshin Lok Sabha constituency. Maldah Dakshin Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 543 parliamentary constituencies in Malda district, West Bengal, India. It is considered to be a bastion of the Indian National Congress. While five of the assembly segments of No. 8 Maldaha Dakshin Lok Sabha constituency are in Malda district in West Bengal, two assembly segments are in Murshidabad district. 2024 Indian General Election In West Bengal
The 2024 Indian general election was held in West Bengal in seven phases between 19 April and 1 June 2024 to elect 42 members of the 18th Lok Sabha. The result of the election was announced on 4 June 2024. The by-elections for Bhagabangola Assembly constituency, Bhagabangola and Baranagar Assembly constituency, Baranagar in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly was also scheduled with the general election and took place on 7 May and 1 June respectively. 2019 Indian General Election
General elections were held in India in seven phases from 11 April to 19 May 2019 to elect the members of the 17th Lok Sabha. Votes were counted and the result was declared on 23 May. Around 912 million people were eligible to vote, and voter turnout was over 67 per cent – the highest ever, as well as the highest ever participation by women voters until 2024 Indian general election. 2014 Indian General Election
General elections were held in India in nine phases from 7 April to 12 May 2014 to elect the members of the 16th Lok Sabha. With 834 million registered voters, they were the largest-ever elections in the world until being surpassed by the 2019 Indian general election, 2019 election. Mausam Noor
Mausam Benazir Noor (born 15 October 1979) is an Indian politician serving as Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha from West Bengal and Vice Chairperson of West Bengal Commission for Women. She was President of Malda district TMC and a Member of Lok Sabha for Maldaha Uttar from 2009 until 2019. Noor comes from a political Bengali Muslim family of Malda, West Bengal. Her uncle A. B. A. Ghani Khan Choudhury was Minister of Railways in the Third Indira Gandhi Ministry. She studied at La Martiniere Calcutta and received a law degree from Calcutta University.
