Hot Hot Heat
Hot Hot Heat was a Canadian indie rock band from Victoria, British Columbia, formed in 1999. The band was signed to Seattle label Sub Pop in 2001 and Warner Records throughout the majority of their career. The band has released five full-length albums to date, their first and critically acclaimed, '' Make Up the Breakdown'' (2002), ''Elevator'' (2005), '' Happiness Ltd.'' (2007), '' Future Breeds'' (2010) and their last before disbanding, ''Hot Hot Heat'' (2016). The band's style makes use of electronic and traditional instruments and has variously been categorized as dance-punk, post-punk revival, and art-punk. Chris Walla
Christopher Ryan Walla (born November 2, 1975) is an American musician, record producer, and film music composer, best known for being a former guitarist and songwriter for the band Death Cab for Cutie. Musical career Early bands While at Bothell High School in the early 1990s, Walla started a program called Open Microphone with creative writing teacher Laura Drumheller, as a noon-time forum for the arts, which allowed any student to take the stage and perform. Walla regularly performed at these shows, as well as serving as MC. One performance by Walla included a song by Talking Heads. These early Open Microphone shows proved popular and continued for over twenty years, moving from Bothell High School to Inglemoor High School when teacher Drumheller transferred there. Dante DeCaro (born January 26, 1981) is a Canadian musician who was the guitarist and songwriter of the Canadian band Hot Hot Heat. DeCaro initially joined Hot Hot Heat in 2001 and was with the band until he announced his departure from in October 2004. Despite the announcement, he stayed to complete the band's 2005 album, ''Elevator''. In the spring of 2005, he began playing solo acoustic shows with drummer Arlen Thompson of the Montreal band Wolf Parade.
