Majid (Air Defense System)
The Majid Air Defense Weapon System, also known as AD-08, is produced by the Defense Industries Organization of the Ministry of Defense and Support of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which is actually a short-range, short-altitude surface-to-air weapon system. The Majid system made its initial appearance during a parade on April 18, 2021, and was subsequently utilized in the military exercises known as 'Defenders of the Sky of Velayat 1400' in the same year. Naming Majid is a name derived from Majid Ghorbankhani as a Holy Shrine Defender. Features This system is capable of operating in all weather conditions and can simultaneously target and launch missiles against four different threats such as drones, cruise missiles, helicopters and other low-maneuvering targets. The Islamic Republic of Iran Air Defense Force () is the anti-aircraft warfare branch of Iran's regular military, the Islamic Republic of Iran Army (Artesh). It split from the air force (IRIAF) in 2008 and controls the country's military radar network. Holy Shrine Defenders (Persian language, Persian: مدافعان حرم; ''Modāfe'ān-e-Haram'') is a phrase used by the Iranian government to refer to their advisers and military personnel (including foreign fighters) fighting in Iraq and Syria in defense and protection of Shia peoples and holy shrines often targeted by Sunni fighters. Tabas (air Defense System)
The Tabas () missile system is an Iranian medium range road-mobile aerial defense system that was first revealed on 11 May 2014. It is believed to be another version of the Ra'ad air defense system along with Sevom Khordad. The name of the air defense system refers to Operation Eagle Claw which took place at Tabas and hence the name of the missile system. Characteristics The missile system resembles the Soviet Buk-M1 missile system due to its lets sophisticated radar system. The speed of its TELAR is estimated to be 65 km/h; each vehicle can carry 3 missiles. It is also likely that the system can intercept ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, anti-radiation missiles, smart bombs and UAVs.
