Mads Søgaard
Mads Søgaard (born 13 December 2000) is a Danish professional ice hockey goaltender for the Belleville Senators of the American Hockey League (AHL) as a prospect to the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected by the Senators in the second round, 37th overall, in the 2019 NHL entry draft. After two seasons in the AHL, Søgaard made his NHL debut with the Senators in 2022. Internationally, he has played for the Danish national team at the junior level in several tournaments. Nicknamed "The Great Dane", Søgaard is the tallest active goaltender in the NHL, along with Ivan Fedotov from the Philadelphia Flyers. The Medicine Hat Tigers are a Canadian major junior ice hockey team in the Western Hockey League (WHL) based in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Established in 1970, the team is tied with the Kamloops Blazers for the most Ed Chynoweth Cups as league champion with six, and have gone on to win two Memorial Cup titles. The Utica Comets are a professional ice hockey team based in Utica, New York. They are members of the North Division in the Eastern Conference of the American Hockey League (AHL) and affiliated with the National Hockey League's (NHL) New Jersey Devils. Joonas Korpisalo (; born 28 April 1994) is a Finnish professional ice hockey goaltender for the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL). Anton Forsberg (born 27 November 1992) is a Swedish professional ice hockey goaltender for the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the seventh round (188th overall) of the 2011 NHL entry draft. Frederik Andersen (born 2 October 1989) is a Danish professional ice hockey goaltender for the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League (NHL). He previously played for the Anaheim Ducks and Toronto Maple Leafs. Representing Denmark men's national ice hockey team, Denmark, Andersen competed in the 2010 IIHF World Championship. The 2021–22 AHL season was the 86th season of the American Hockey League. The regular season began on October 15, 2021, and ended on April 30, 2022. The regular season was followed by the Calder Cup playoffs, which had not been held since 2019 due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The playoffs began on May 2, 2022, and ended on June 25, 2022, with the Chicago Wolves winning their third Calder Cup.
