''Mad Dog and the Butcher'' (french: Les Derniers vilains) is a Canadian documentary film, directed by Thomas Rinfret and released in 2019. The film is a portrait of the Vachon family of professional wrestlers, including Maurice "Mad Dog" Vachon and Paul "Butcher" Vachon. Maurice Vachon
Joseph Maurice Régis Vachon (September 14, 1929 − November 21, 2013) was a Canadian professional wrestler, best known by his ring name Mad Dog Vachon. He was the older brother of wrestlers Paul and Vivian Vachon, and the uncle of wrestler Luna Vachon. Vachon started his career as an amateur wrestler, participating in the 1948 Summer Olympics and winning a gold medal at the 1950 British Empire Games. He made the switch to professional wrestling and spent time in various promotions in the United States while occasionally teaming with his brother Paul. In Portland, Oregon, he received the name "Mad Dog" Vachon. In the early 1960s, Vachon became a main eventer in the American Wrestling Association. The history of cinema in Quebec started on June 27, 1896 when the Frenchman Louis Minier inaugurated the first movie projection in North America in a Montreal theatre room. The 22nd Quebec Cinema Awards were presented on 10 June 2020, to recognize talent and achievement in the cinema of Quebec. The planned 7 June ceremony was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but nominees were announced 23 April. Abenaki documentary filmmaker Alanis Obomsawin was also selected as the recipient of the Iris Tribute at the unanimous recommendation of Québec Cinéma's Comité de représentation professionnelle. Paul Vachon
Paul Vachon (born October 7, 1937) is a Canadian retired professional wrestling, professional wrestler. He is a member of the Vachon family, Vachon wrestling family. He is perhaps best known by his ring name Butcher Vachon. Professional wrestling career Paul Vachon grew up as one of thirteen children of Ferdinand Vachon, a Montreal police officer. In 1957, he followed his brother Maurice Vachon, Maurice into professional business, adopting his brother's, the "Mad Dog", vicious heel (wrestling), heel style and the moniker "Butcher Vachon".
