Matcha
is finely ground powder of specially grown and processed green tea leaves, traditionally consumed in East Asia. The green tea plants used for matcha are shade-grown for three to four weeks before harvest; the stems and veins are removed during processing. During shaded growth, the plant '' Camellia sinensis'' produces more theanine and caffeine. The powdered form of matcha is consumed differently from tea leaves or tea bags, as it is suspended in a liquid, typically water or milk. The traditional Japanese tea ceremony centers on the preparation, serving and drinking of matcha as hot tea, and embodies a meditative spirituality. Macha Mission
Macha Mission is a mission station in the Choma District of the Southern Province of Zambia. While it started out as a place to convert the local population to Christianity, it has grown into a community centre with a church, five schools, a hospital and a malaria research centre. Macha Mission began as a Christian mission station in 1906. Hannah Frances Davidson, an American missionary from the Brethren in Christ (BIC) church, traveled there from Matopo Mission in Southern Rhodesia (present-day Zimbabwe). She was accompanied by two African helpers and Adda Engle, another missionary. Davidson and her companions subsequently embarked on the task of converting local Tonga and Ila peoples to Christianity. They established a school, a church, and eventually a clinic. Macha was an experimental post-rock band from Athens, Georgia composed of brothers Josh McKay (founder/singer/multi-instrumentalist), Mischo McKay (drums/percussion), Kai Reidl (multi-instrumentalist) and Wes Martin (multi-instrumentalist). Macha's music combined the precision tension-and-release post-rock of Mogwai with the lush, hypnotic grind of My Bloody Valentine, along with elements of post-punk, kraut-rock and especially Indonesian Gamelan. The CMJ New Music Report opined that the band "may have invented a new genre - call it Indo-rock." They incorporated a variety of instruments into their sets: Javanese zither, Balinese bamboo flute, hammered dulcimer, Hawaiian slide guitar, talempong nipple gongs and Nepalese shawms, vibraphone, and a 1970s-era thrift-store organ called the Fun Machine. Built as a of the Royal Navy named , she was transferred on 15 November 1946 to the Irish Naval Service and renamed LÉ ''Macha'' after Macha, an ancient Irish goddess of war. HMS ''Borage'' She served as escort for the Arctic convoys from 1942-1945 before being sold to Ireland. LÉ ''Macha'' In September 1948, she had the honour of carrying the remains of William Butler Yeats from France to Drumcliffe, County Sligo, for reburial. There was a funeral march from Nice to the ship with band, trumpeters and military honours from a company of French alpine troops. It was the first time that France rendered military honours to a civilian. The remains were received at Rocquebrune near Nice by Sean Murphy, the Irish Ambassador to France.
