Medicines For Malaria Venture
Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV), a not-for-profit public-private partnership, was established as a foundation in Switzerland in 1999. Its mission is to reduce the burden of malaria in disease-endemic countries by developing and facilitating the delivery of antimalarial drugs. Its vision is a world in which these innovative medicines will cure and protect the vulnerable and under-served populations at risk of malaria, and help to ultimately eradicate the disease. History MMV was launched in 1999, with initial seed finance of US$4 million from the Government of Switzerland, the Department for International Development (UK), the Politics of the Netherlands, Government of the Netherlands, The World Bank, and Rockefeller Foundation. In 1999, the pipeline for new antimalarial drugs was virtually empty. The possibility of profit in antimalarial drug development was considered too low to attract pharmaceutical investment. Malaria was killing 1-2 million people a year, most of the vict ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

It was released on 25 January 1996 through Cacophonous Records, re-released in 2001 by Century Media, and completely re-recorded in 2005, released as ''Stormblåst MMV'' (See further below). This album was Dimmu Borgir's last album sung entirely in the band's native language of Norwegian, as they would after change to English. This is also the first album where Tjodalv switched to drums as opposed to guitar, the first where Shagrath is on vocals and the last where lyrics would be written by Aldrahn (of Dødheimsgard and Ved Buens Ende) until 2003's ''Death Cult Armageddon'', and the last album to feature Brynjard Tristan on bass guitar. More keyboards were employed for this album than previously by the band, and the guitars and bass became more musically textured. Maximum Majority Voting
Ranked pairs (sometimes abbreviated "RP") or the Tideman method is an electoral system developed in 1987 by Nicolaus Tideman that selects a single winner using votes that express preferences. The ranked-pairs procedure can also be used to create a sorted list of winners. If there is a candidate who is preferred over the other candidates, when compared in turn with each of the others, the ranked-pairs procedure guarantees that candidate will win. Because of this property, the ranked-pairs procedure complies with the Condorcet winner criterion (and is a Condorcet method). Procedure The ranked-pairs procedure operates as follows: # Tally the vote count comparing each pair of candidates, and determine the winner of each pair (provided there is not a tie) # Sort (rank) each pair, by strength of victory, from largest first to smallest last.In fact, there are different ways how the ''strength of a victory'' is measured. This article uses Tideman's original method based on margin ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |
