Micrococcus Roseus
''Kocuria rosea'' is a gram-positive bacteria that is catalase-positive and oxidase-positive. It has a coccus shape that occurs in the tetrad arrangement and is a strict aerobe that grows best from 25 to 37 °C. ''K. rosea'' has also been found to cause urinary tract infections in people with weakened immune systems. The normal habitat for this ''Kocuria'' species is skin, soil, and water. It derives its name from the carotenoid pigment that it secretes. Isolated colonies on a TSA plate are circular, 1.0–1.5 mm in size, slightly convex, smooth, and pink in color. Metabolism ''K. rosea'' has been found to be able to biodegrade malachite green, azo dyes, triphenylmethane Triphenylmethane, or triphenyl methane, is the hydrocarbon with the formula (C6H5)3CH. This colorless solid is soluble in nonpolar organic solvents and not in water. Triphenylmethane is the basic skeleton of many synthetic dyes called triarylmeth ..., as well as some other industrial dyes. Due to ... Roseomonas Rosea
''Roseomonas rosea'' (formerly ''Muricoccus roseus'') is a species of Gram negative, strictly aerobic, coccobacilli-shaped, pink-colored bacteria. It was first isolated from a children's day care center in 1995. Further work on the isolate led to the proposal of a new genus and species, ''Muricoccus roseus'' in 2003. Further work on ''M. roseus'' found that the species belonged in the genus ''Roseomonas'', and also led to ''Teichococcus ludipueritiae'' being reclassified as '' Roseomonas ludipueritiae'' in 2009. The new name for the species is ''Roseomonas rosea''.Sanchez-Porro C, Gallego V, Busse HJ, Kämpfer P, Ventosa ATransfer of Teichococcus ludipueritiae and Muricoccus roseus to the genus Roseomonas, as Roseomonas ludipueritiae comb. nov. and Roseomonas rosea comb. nov., respectively, and emended description of the genus Roseomonas.International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology. 2009 May 1;59(5):1193-8.
