M-15 Motorway (Pakistan)
The M-15 Motorway, also known as the Hazara Motorway (Hindko/, ), is a 180-kilometer Controlled-access highway, controlled-access Motorways of Pakistan, motorway in Pakistan. It links the M-1 motorway (Pakistan), Burhan Interchange near Hasan Abdal in the Punjab, Pakistan, Punjab province with Haripur, Pakistan, Haripur, Havelian, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Shinkiari, Battagram, and Thakot in the Hazara Division of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The project is divided into seven packages – the first four (from Burhan to Mansehra) were completed and inaugurated on 27 December 2017 and 18 November 2019, and the last three sections, from Maneshra to Thakot, were inaugurated on 29 July 2020. The Hasan Abdal and Havelian section was financed by the Asian Development Bank, along with a grant from the United Kingdom, while the Havelian to Shinkiari and Shinkiari to Thakot sections of the motorway were financed under the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor. Mansehra
Mansehra (Urdu, ) is a city in the Hazara Division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan. The Karakoram Highway (, ), also known as the KKH, National Highway 35 (), N-35, and the ChinaPakistan Friendship Highway, is a National Highways of Pakistan, national highway which extends from Hasan Abdal in the Punjab, Pakistan, Punjab province of Pakistan to the Khunjerab Pass in Gilgit-Baltistan, where it crosses into China and becomes China National Highway 314. Haro River
The Haro () is a river in Pakistan that flows through Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and parts of Punjab. It is a left tributary of the Indus. Its main valley is in Abbottabad District, in the Hazara Division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, northern Pakistan. The famous Khanpur Dam has been built on this river at Khanpur in the Haripur District of Hazara Division to provide drinking water to the twin cities, i.e. Islamabad (the capital of Pakistan) and Rawalpindi. The decrease in inflows from Khanpur dam from the Haro River results in a water shortage in the twin cities during the summer season. China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC; zh, c=中巴经济走廊, p=Zhōng bā jīngjì zǒuláng; ) is a 3,000 km Chinese infrastructure network project currently under construction in Pakistan. This sea-and-land-based corridor aims to secure and shorten the route for China’s energy imports from the Middle East, avoiding the existing path through the Strait of Malacca, Straits of Malacca between Malaysia and Indonesia, which could be blockaded in case of war, thereby threatening China’s energy-dependent economy.
