Sidi Khellil ( ar, ﺳﻴﺪي ﺧﻠﻴﻞ) is a town and commune in El M'Ghair District, El Oued Province, Algeria. According to the 2008 census it has a population of 6,547, up from 5,524 in 1998, and an annual growth rate of 1.7%. Geography Much of the surrounding land is a sandy desert. However, the area between the town (and the railway) and the N3 highway is occupied by an extensive palm plantation. The endorheic salt lake Chott Felrhir lies about to the northeast of the town. El M'Ghair ( ar, اﻟﻤﻐﻴﺮ), also called El Meghaïer or Mhraïer, is a town and commune, and capital of El M'Ghair District and El M'Ghair Province, Algeria. It is the second biggest city in the state of Biskra because of its population and economics. Laghouat
Laghouat ( ar, الأغواط; en, Laghwat) is the capital of the Laghouat Province, Algeria, south of the Algerian capital Algiers. Located in the Amour Range of the Saharan Atlas, the town is an oasis on the north edge of the Sahara Desert. It is an important administrative and military center and marketplace, and is known for rug and tapestry weaving. Laghouat traces its history to at least the 11th century. It was ruled by the Ottoman Turks in 1786 and annexed to Beylik of Titteri (Médéa). The town experienced the brutal Siege of Laghouat in 1852, and came under French colonial rule until 1962.
