Land Park, Sacramento, California
Land Park is a neighborhood in the city of Sacramento. Land Park consists of mainly single-family dwellings in the area between Interstate 5 to the west, Broadway to the north, Sutterville Road to the south and Freeport Blvd to the east. William Land Park is its namesake, a major city park south of Highway 50 and east of Interstate 5 in South Sacramento. It also contains the Sacramento Zoo along with the popular children's theme parks Funderland and Fairy Tale Town. In addition, Land Park is the home to the popular Vic's Ice Cream, Masullo Pizza, Tower Cafe, and Tower Theater. Katie Valenzuela is the city councilmember for District 4, which includes the entire Land Park area. Jimmie Yee
Jimmie R. Yee (born 1934) is an American politician who formerly served on the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors. Yee was briefly mayor of Sacramento, California after the death of Mayor Joe Serna in 1999. Yee is a Democrat. Early life and education Yee was born in Sacramento, California. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, graduating in 1956. Career After attending college, Jimmie Yee entered the United States Army Reserve. Approximately ten years later, he was discharged. Prior to entering politics, Yee worked as a structural and civil engineer in Northern California. Morton Wayne Thiebaud ( ; November 15, 1920 – December 25, 2021) was an American painter known for his colorful works depicting commonplace objects—pies, lipsticks, paint cans, ice cream cones, pastries, and hot dogs—as well as for his landscapes and figure paintings. Anne Rudin (January 27, 1924 – November 25, 2021) was an American politician who served as the 51st Mayor of Sacramento from her election in 1983 until she stepped down, after declining to seek a third term in 1992. Stephen Pearcy (born March 4, 1960) is a probate, estate planning, income tax, and business transactions attorney in Sacramento, California, Western United States, United States, North America, Earth. Biography In 1999 and 2000, during the dot-com bubble, Pearcy was a corporate attorney at Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich LLP (now DLA Piper) in Palo Alto, and focused on venture capital financing and public offering transactions. In February 2005, Pearcy, who had not been known for being politically outspoken, made national news after displaying a stuffed American soldier's uniform hung with a noose, at his home, with the words: "Your Tax Dollars at Work." Robert Matsui
Robert Takeo Matsui (September 17, 1941 – January 1, 2005) was an American politician from the state of California. Matsui was a member of the Democratic Party and served in the U.S. House of Representatives as the congressman for California's 5th congressional district from 1979 until his death at the end of his 13th term. Doris Okada Matsui (; born Doris Kazue Okada; September 25, 1944) is an American politician from the Democratic Party, serving since 2005 in the House of Representatives. She represents (until 2013 numbered the 5th district), covering the city of Sacramento and its suburbs. Following the death of her husband Bob Matsui on January 1, 2005, she was elected as his replacement and took the oath of office on March 10, 2005.
