Stig Löfgren
Lieutenant General Stig Albert Lorentz Löfgren (7 January 191228 April 1998) was a Swedish Army officer. He served as Deputy Commanding General of the I Military District (1963–1966) and as Commanding General of Bergslagen Military District (1967–1973). Early life Löfgren was born on 7 January 1912 in Ljusnarsberg, Örebro County, Sweden, the son of Alf Löfgren and his wife Asta (née Källgren). Career Löfgren was commissioned as an officer in 1933 with the rank of second lieutenant. He was promoted to lieutenant in 1933 and to captain in 1941. Löfgren attended the Royal Swedish Army Staff College in 1942 and served in the Defence Staff in 1944. In the Army Department, he then came to work close to the Chief of the Defence Staff, major general Carl August Ehrensvärd. Löfgren Syndrome
Löfgren syndrome is a type of acute sarcoidosis, an inflammatory disorder characterized by swollen lymph nodes in the chest, tender red nodules on the shins, fever and arthritis. It is more common in women than men, and is more frequent in those of Scandinavian, Irish, African and Puerto Rican heritage. It was described in 1953 by Sven Halvar Löfgren, a Swedish clinician. Some have considered the condition to be imprecisely defined. Signs and symptoms It is characterized by enlargement of the lymph nodes near the inner border of the lungs (called " hilar lymphadenopathy") as seen on x-ray, and tender red nodules ( erythema nodosum) are classically present on the shins, predominantly in women. Johan Albert Constantin Löfgren (1854–1918), known as Albert Löfgren or Alberto Löfgren, was head of the botany department of the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden around 1905. The plant currently known as '' Schlumbergera opuntioides'' is one of those he first named. Anna-Lena Löfgren (1 May 1944 – 21 May 2010) was a Swedish singer from Stockholm. During the years 1962 and 1995, more than 40 of her songs made it onto Svensktoppen, the record chart of Sveriges Radio. Löfgren became one of the most best known schlager singers in Sweden during the 1960s. She made her first public appearance on the radio show '' Barnens brevlåda'' in the 1950s. A few years later Löfgren was discovered by the Swedish rock singer Rock-Olga at the nightspot Nalen in Stockholm. Her breakthrough came soon after in 1962 with the song "Regniga natt", which was certified gold (sold more than 100,000 copies) and topped that year's Svensktoppen. Sara Therese Löfgren, (born 11 April 1977), is a Swedish singer known for her participation in Fame Factory and her song "Starkare" (''Stronger''). Background Löfgren started singing at the age of 12. She got a break in the talent show Fame Factory which was broadcast on TV3, performing songs like "Starkare", and "Aldrig". Glasvegas are a Scottish indie rock band from Glasgow. The band consists of James Allan (musician), James Allan (vocals), Rab Allan (lead guitar) and Paul Donoghue (bass guitar), with Swedish drummer Jonna Löfgren joining the group in 2010 until her departure in 2020. Mikael Löfgren (born 2 September 1969) is a former Swedish biathlete. He became the Junior World Champion in 1986, aged 17. At the 1992 Olympics in Albertville, France, he won two bronze medals, one in the 4 × 7.5 km relay and one in the 20 km individual. His teammates with the Swedish relay team were Ulf Johansson, Tord Wiksten, and Leif Andersson. The next season, he won the overall Biathlon World Cup.
