Lynnwood is a city in Snohomish County, Washington, United States. The city is part of the Seattle metropolitan area and is located north of Seattle and south of Everett, near the junction of Interstate 5 and Interstate 405. It is the fourth-largest city in Snohomish County, with a population of 38,568 in the 2020 U.S. census. Often characterized as a suburb or bedroom community, Lynnwood has the highest concentration of retailers in the region and a growing core of businesses, anchored by the Alderwood Mall. The city also has a community college, a convention center, and a major transit center. It is headquarters for several major companies, including Zumiez. The Lynnwood area was logged and settled by homesteaders in the late 19th century and early 20th century, including the development of Alderwood Manor as a planned farming community. Lynnwood is a residential neighbourhood in west Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It is near downtown, the University of Alberta, MacEwan College, and West Edmonton Mall. It became a part of Edmonton when the Town of Jasper Place amalgamated with Edmonton in 1964. The neighbourhood is bounded on the east by 149 Street (part of which was renamed "Lynnwood Way"), on the south by Whitemud Drive, on the west by 159 Street, and on the north by 87 Avenue. The community is represented by the Lynnwood Community League, established in 1960, which maintains a community hall and outdoor rink located at 15525 84 Avenue NW. Lynnwood is a historic house at 5 Linden Avenue in Wakefield, Massachusetts. Built c. 1858, it is one of the town's finest examples of Stick style architecture. It is a -story wood-frame structure with an L-shaped cross-gable configuration; its features include deep eaves supported by arched brackets, and a -story tower topped by a hip roof with triangular dormer windows. Its eaves have brackets with pendants, and its windows have surrounds with drip molding. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. Lynnwood Farnam (January 13, 1885 – November 23, 1930) was a Canadian organist who became the preeminent organist in North America in the 1920s until his death. He was influential in promoting the music of Bach, and also championed French organ music contemporary to his day. He became acquainted with the most important American and European organists of his day, and upon his early death, several major works were dedicated to his memory. He was known for his superb technical ability and knowledge of organ registration, but he avoided performances intended to "show off" the organist, preferring the attention to be drawn to the music.
