Luís Viana Filho
Luís Viana Filho (old spelling Luiz Vianna Filho) (28 March 1908 – 5 June 1990) was a Brazilian lawyer, professor, historian and politician who governed the state Bahia from 1967 to 1971. Biography Filho was born in Paris, France, and his birth certificate was registered in Salvador, Bahia, Salvador, Brazil. He was the son of the last governor of Bahia in the 19th century, Luís Viana. He graduated in law in 1929, but exercised the profession of journalist, corresponding to the newspapers in the Bahian capital "Diário da Bahia" and "A Tarde". Political career In 1934, Filho entered politics, being elected federal deputy, being removed due to the coup of the Estado Novo (Portugal), Estado Novo, which returned him to journalism. The Chamber of Deputies () is a federal legislative body and the lower house of the National Congress of Brazil. The chamber comprises 513 deputies, who are elected by proportional representation to serve four-year terms. The current president of the chamber is the Deputy Hugo Motta ( Republicanos- PB), who was elected on 1 February 2025. Structure The number of deputies elected is proportional to the size of the population of the respective state (or of the Federal District) as of 1994. However, no delegation can be made up of less than eight or more than seventy seats. Thus the least populous state elects eight federal deputies and the most populous elects seventy. These restrictions favour the smaller states at the expense of the more populous states and so the size of the delegations is not exactly proportional to population. Order Of Ipiranga
The Order of Ipiranga ( Portuguese: Ordem do Ipiranga) is the highest state honor that is awarded by the state government of São Paulo. The award is bestowed onto Brazilian citizens or foreigners that show exemplary service to the people of São Paulo.
