Luha Ng Buwaya
''Luha ng Buwaya'' or, "Crocodile's Tear" in translation, is a novel written by Palanca Awardee and Filipino novelist Amado V. Hernandez. It consists of 53 chapters. The story is about poor farmers uniting against the greedy desires of the prominent family of the Grandes. In Filipino idioms, "crocodiles" were used to symbolize those people who are corrupt. The "''buwaya''" (crocodile) in the title refers to the Grandes family, who were greedy for money. New Bilibid Prison
The New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa, Metro Manila is the main insular prison designed to house the prison population of the Philippines. It is maintained by the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) under the Department of Justice. As of October 2022, the NBP housed 29,204 inmates, which exceeds its ideal capacity of 6,345. In 1940, the Commonwealth government transferred prisoners to the NBP from the Old Bilibid Prison ( es, Carcel y Presidio Correccional, "Correctional Jail and Military Prison"), in Manila.
