Lowell (lunar Crater)
Lowell is a Lunar craters, lunar impact crater that lies just beyond the western limb of the Moon. It is embedded within the northwestern part of the Montes Rook mountain ring of the Mare Orientale impact basin. This portion of the Moon's Far side (Moon), far side is sometimes brought into view of the Earth during periods of favorable libration and lighting, although it is only seen from the edge. The crater is circular in outline, with a well-defined edge. A small crater lies along the edge of the eastern rim. The inner wall is wider along the western side, and there are some wiktionary:terrace, terrace structures. In the middle of the crater is a central peak on the interior floor. Lowell National Historical Park
Lowell National Historical Park is a National Historical Park of the United States located in Lowell, Massachusetts. Established in 1978 a few years after Lowell Heritage State Park, it is operated by the National Park Service and comprises a group of different sites in and around the city of Lowell related to the era of textile manufacturing in the city during the Industrial Revolution. Lowell Point is a census-designated place (CDP) in Kenai Peninsula Borough, Alaska, United States, just outside Seward. At the 2010 census the population was 80, down from 92 in 2000. Geography Lowell Point is located on the east side of the Kenai Peninsula at (60.071557, -149.443715). It sits on the western shore of Resurrection Bay and is bordered to the northeast by the city of Seward. According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of , of which , or 0.18%, are water. The only road access is Lowell Point Road, an extension of Seward's Railway Avenue which begins beyond the Seward townsite boundaries, a short distance southwest of the Alaska SeaLife Center and the southern terminus of the Seward Highway. The Lowell Institute is a United States educational foundation located in Boston, Massachusetts, providing both free public lectures, and also advanced lectures. It was endowed by a bequest of $250,000 left by John Lowell Jr., who died in 1836. The Institute began work in the winter of 1839/40, and an inaugural lecture was given on December 31, 1839, by Edward Everett. Bequest Lowell's will set up an endowment with a principal of over $1 million (in 1909), stipulating 10% of its net annual income was to be added back to help it grow. None of the fund was to be invested in a building for the lectures. Lowell Observatory is an astronomical observatory in Flagstaff, Arizona, United States. Lowell Observatory was established in 1894, placing it among the oldest observatories in the United States, and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1965. and In 2011, the Observatory was named one of "The World's 100 Most Important Places" by Time Magazine. The Lowell crater is a large impact crater on Aonia Terra in the Thaumasia quadrangle of Mars. The crater is about 203 kilometers (127 miles) in diameter. Lowell is an example of a well-preserved peak ring crater on Mars. Lowell's ejecta blanket and associated secondary craters are dissected by channels.
