"Louie Louie" is a rhythm and blues song written and composed by American musician Richard Berry in 1955, recorded in 1956, and released in 1957. It is best known for the 1963 hit version by the Kingsmen and has become a Standard (music), standard in pop music, pop and rock music, rock. ''Pretenders II'' is the second studio album by British rock band the Pretenders, issued on Sire Records in August 1981. It incorporates two songs that had been released as singles in the UK and placed on an EP in the US. It peaked at #7 on the UK Albums Chart and #10 on the Billboard 200, and has been certified a gold record for sales by the RIAA. It is the final album by the original line-up, as the following year bassist Pete Farndon was dismissed and guitarist James Honeyman-Scott died in the same week. Louie, Go Home
"Louie, Go Home" is a song written by Paul Revere and Mark Lindsay as a sequel after Richard Berry declined their request for a follow-up to "Louie Louie". It was recorded by Paul Revere and the Raiders in 1963 and released in March 1964. The group recorded two versions of the song. The original (with sax opening) was only released as a single. A re-recorded "groovy, quasi-psychedelic rearrangement" (with guitar opening) was featured on the '' Midnight Ride'' album in 1966 as well as the group's first ''Greatest Hits'' compilation the following year. Cover versions Davie Jones with the King Bees version When manager Leslie Conn obtained an acetate of the Raiders version in 1964, the young David Bowie, then still called David Jones, recorded the song with his band Davie Jones and the King Bees. Brother Louie (Hot Chocolate Song)
"Brother Louie" is a song by British soul band Hot Chocolate. Written by members Errol Brown and Tony Wilson and produced by Mickie Most, the song discusses an interracial love affair between a white man and a black woman, and the subsequent rejection of both by their parents because of it. Upon its release as a single, "Brother Louie" peaked at number 7 on the UK Singles Chart in 1973. Alexis Korner has a spoken word part in this version of the song. Phil Dennys arranged the string section. Stories version "Brother Louie" was covered by the American band Stories (featuring singer Ian Lloyd) about six months after Hot Chocolate's UK hit.
