Loud Records
Loud Records, LLC. is a record label founded by Steve Rifkind and Rich Isaacson in 1991. Loud is a hip hop label that released material by acts such as Wu-Tang Clan, Big Pun, Mobb Deep, Krayzie Bone, The Beatnuts, M.O.P., Tha Alkaholiks, Pete Rock, Lil' Flip, Three 6 Mafia, Project Pat, Xzibit, Twista, Dead Prez, The Dwellas, and The X-Ecutioners. The label also released thrash metal band Megadeth's deluxe and remastered debut album '' Killing Is My Business... And Business Is Good!'' in 2002. The label was originally distributed by Zoo. It was later distributed by RCA until 1999 when distribution moved over to Columbia. In June 2007, Sony Music resurrected the label, after which Rifkind would buy it back, making it a subsidiary of SRC. Nickelodeon Records
Nickelodeon Records (formerly only known as Nick Records from 2001 to 2010) is the record label for the children's television channel Nickelodeon, which is owned by Paramount Global. The label featured new and emerging young musical artists, "triple threat" singers who would also act and dance on the network's series (singer Ariana Grande being one of them), and soundtrack compilations based on Nickelodeon TV shows. Nickelodeon released its first soundtrack album in 1993. The "Nick Records" name was first used in 2001, when Nickelodeon announced a partnership with Jive Records to form a new record label. In September 2004, Nick Records announced a new partner, Bertelsmann Music Group (later sold to Sony Music). In October 2022, Republic Records announced a worldwide music deal with Nickelodeon. ''Hoodlum: Music Inspired By the Motion Picture'' is the soundtrack to Bill Duke's 1997 crime drama film ''Hoodlum''. It was released on August 12, 1997 via Loud Records and Interscope Records, and consisted of a blend of hip hop and R&B music. The album features songs performed by 112, Adriana Evans, Big Boi, Big Bub, Big Noyd, Chico DeBarge, Cool Breeze, Davina, Erykah Badu, Faith Evans, L.V., Mobb Deep, Rahsaan Patterson, Rakim, Tony Rich and Wu-Tang Clan. The soundtrack peaked at number 94 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and at number 23 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart in the United States. Adriana Evans is the self-titled debut studio album by American neo soul artist Adriana Evans, released on April 15, 1997, through Loud Records. All of the tracks on the album were written and produced by rapper Dred Scott and Evans. Adriana Evans, (also known as Adriana Madera; born 1974) is an American R&B soul singer-songwriter. She was born in San Francisco, the daughter of jazz singer Mary Stallings. Her debut album, entitled '' Adriana Evans'', was released in 1997 and peaked at #33 on the ''Billboard'' Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Music career Paul Stewart, CEO of PMP records, played a crucial role in helping Adriana Evans get a deal with Capitol Records during the 1990s. Stewart was attracted to Evans after hearing a demo featuring her and having seen her in the video for Scott's "Check the Vibe." ''Likwidation'' is the third studio album by American hip hop group Tha Alkaholiks. It was released on August 26, 1997 via Loud Records. Recording sessions took place at Enterprise Studio in Burbank, California, at Yo Mama's House and at Sound Castle Recording Studios in Los Angeles. Production was primarily handled by member E-Swift, as well as Madlib, Easy Mo Bee, T-Smoov, and Marley Marl. It features guest appearances from Xzibit, Keith Murray, King Tee, Lootpack, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Phil da Agony, The WhoRidas, with cameos from DeBarge, LL Cool J and Nas. Alvin Nathaniel Joiner (born September 18, 1974), better known by his stage name Xzibit (pronounced "exhibit"), is an American rapper, actor, television presenter, and radio personality. Xzibit began his musical career after the release of his debut studio album, '' At the Speed of Life'', on October 15, 1996. The album was both critically and commercially successful, peaking at number 74 on the ''Billboard'' 200. It also contained the single " Paparazzi", which peaked at number 83 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. This success allowed Xzibit to secure a recording contract with Loud Records later that year. Xzibit released his second album, ''40 Dayz & 40 Nightz'', on August 25, 1998; it peaked at number 53 on the ''Billboard'' 200. Sadat X
Derek Murphy (born December 29, 1968), better known as Sadat X, is an American rapper, best known as a member of alternative hip hop group Brand Nubian. Originally known as Derek X, Sadat takes his name from former Egyptian president Anwar Sadat. In 1996, Sadat recorded on the Red Hot Organization's compilation CD '' America Is Dying Slowly'', alongside Biz Markie, Wu-Tang Clan, Fat Joe and others. The CD, meant to raise awareness of the AIDS epidemic among African American men, was called "a masterpiece" by ''The Source''. Biography Sadat X is involved in teaching children. He has worked as an elementary school teacher in New Rochelle, New York, qualified as a firefighter, and coaches children's basketball for the New York City Basketball League. ''Hell on Earth'' is the third studio album by the American hip hop duo Mobb Deep, released on November 19, 1996, through Loud and RCA Records.
