Lost In Transition
''Lost in Transition'' is the sixth studio album by the band Sixpence None the Richer released on August 7, 2012, via Tyger Jim label. It is the first album full of mostly original material since 2002's ''Divine Discontent''. The interim period included several new tracks for a greatest hits album, several solo projects for lead singer Leigh Nash, a 2008 album containing mostly Christmas standards, and the '' My Dear Machine'' EP. "My Dear Machine", "Sooner Than Later," and "Give It Back" (under the title "Amazing Grace (Give it Back)") all appeared on the EP, although the latter two were completely re-recorded. Although not classified as country, a few songs are noted to have a country style in their sound, particularly the tracks "Sooner Than Later" and "Go Your way" in the latter half of the album. Sixpence None the Richer (also known as Sixpence) is an American Christian alternative rock band that formed in New Braunfels, Texas, and eventually settled in Nashville, Tennessee. They are best known for their songs " Kiss Me" and " Breathe Your Name" and their covers of "Don't Dream It's Over" and " There She Goes". Jim Scott is an American record producer and audio engineer, best known for his large body of work as an engineer, and his work as a producer with American rock bands Tedeschi Trucks Band and Wilco. Scott has worked as engineer with a range of other rock music artists, including Dixie Chicks, Tom Petty, Sting, the Rolling Stones, Crowded House, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lowen & Navarro, Jack's Mannequin, Ron Sexsmith, The Mastersons and many others. ''The Dawn of Grace'' is a Christmas album by the alternative rock and indie pop band Sixpence None the Richer. The record was released on October 14, 2008. Background ''The Dawn of Grace'' was produced by Steve Hindalong and consists of eight traditional Christmas songs, including "Angels We Have Heard on High" and "Silent Night", featuring guest vocalist Dan Haseltine of Jars of Clay, and two original Sixpence Christmas tunes called "The Last Christmas" and "Christmas for Two". The subtitle on the cover reads: ''A Collection of Original and Traditional Christmas Songs''. ''Divine Discontent'' is the fourth studio album by American band Sixpence None the Richer, released on October 29, 2002. Background Lead singer Leigh Nash has described her understanding of the album title as being that "sometimes your pain and the bad things you go through in life can be good if they bring you to a better place, a stronger place in your life," that is, "discontent can be divine." The album's completion and release was delayed due to a protracted struggle with their prior record label which Nash has described as being a low point for her, but that the process had made her emotionally stronger. Leigh Anne Bingham Nash ( ; born June 27, 1976) is an American singer and songwriter who was the lead vocalist for the Christian alternative rock band Sixpence None the Richer and was also a member of Fauxliage. Her debut solo album, '' Blue on Blue'', was released on August 15, 2006, by the One Son/Nettwerk record labels. Nash has released two other solo albums in 2011 and 2015. Nash has two Grammy nominations: Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal in 1999 and Best Rock Gospel Album in 1998. Early life Nash was born Leigh Anne Bingham in New Braunfels, Texas. Jason Lehning (born April 14, 1972) is an American producer, composer, musician and mixer/engineer living in Nashville, Tennessee. Biography Early life Jason Lehning was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee in a musical family. The son of producer Kyle Lehning, Jason was exposed to the recording process at an early age.
