Longstocking At The AMG
Longstocking were an American, Los Angeles–based queercore-punk band. Formed in 1995 by songwriter, vocalist and guitarist Tamala Poljak, the group originally began as a guitar and drums duo with Poljak and drummer, Kevin Hair. Tamala had previously been a part of the experimental music scene in Los Angeles playing in the bands Oiler and Fleabag until they began writing pop/punk songs on the side. In 1996 Longstocking became a four-piece band featuring David Gomez (bass), Sherri Solinger (drums) and Woody Stevenson (guitar) and signed to Donna Dresch's Chainsaw Records. The band released several singles, including a split single with Team Dresch on Sub Pop and another on K records before disbanding in 1997, just after the release of their debut album, ''Once Upon A Time Called Now''. Heavens To Betsy
Heavens to Betsy was an American punk band formed in Olympia, Washington in 1991 with vocalist and guitarist Corin Tucker and drummer Tracy Sawyer. The duo were part of the DIY riot grrrl, punk rock underground, and were Tucker's first band before she co-formed Sleater-Kinney. Both ''The New York Times'' and ''Rolling Stone'' included Heavens to Betsy in essential riot grrrl lists. In 2018, a music writer noted, "This band's primal punk sound and powerful expressions of young female rage and desire retains the power to startle decades after their creation." Exene Cervenka
Exene Cervenka (born Christene Lee Cervenka; February 1, 1956) is an American singer, artist, and poet. She is best known for her work as a singer in the California punk rock band X. Music career The 21-year-old Cervenka met 23-year-old musician John Doe at a poetry workshop at the Beyond Baroque Foundation in Venice, California. Cervenka started working there. Billy Zoom (guitar) and John Doe (bass and vocals) founded X in 1977, with D.J. Bonebrake coming aboard as drummer. Doe asked Cervenka to join soon after as a co-lead vocalist, and the duo were also the band's primary songwriters. The Little Deaths was an American Rock music, rock band formed in San Francisco, California, San Francisco, California in 1997.
