Frederick Longstaff
Major Frederick Victor Longstaff (15 June 1879 - 1961) was an English Canadians, Anglo-Canadian soldier, architect, military historian and mountaineer. He was the son of Llewellyn W. Abie Longstaff
Abie Longstaff is an Australian-born British author of children's fiction known for '' The Fairytale Hairdresser'' picture book series, illustrated by Lauren Beard, as well as books for older children and educational books for schools. Early life and career Longstaff was raised in Australia and lived in Hong Kong and France before relocating to England, where she resides today. She lives in Hove. Before becoming a writer Longstaff was a barrister and a legal policy analyst with an interest in policing. Writing career Longstaff appears in the British Library’s current list of the "Top 500 Most Borrowed Authors" at number 192. Luis James Longstaff (born 24 February 2001) is an English footballer who plays as a midfielder for side Inverness Caledonian Thistle. Career Longstaff made his professional debut for Liverpool on 17 December 2019, starting in the away match against Aston Villa in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup. On 31 August 2021, he joined Scottish third tier side Queen's Park on loan until 30 June 2022. The Holland Range () is a rugged coastal mountain range in the Ross Dependency, Antarctica, on the west coast of the Ross Ice Shelf. It is about long. Location The Holland Range lies just west of the Ross Ice Shelf and extends from Robb Glacier in the northeast to Lennox-King Glacier in the south. To the north of the range is the "island" that holds Cape Lyttelton. To the west, on the west side of Robb Glacier, is the Queen Elizabeth Range. To the south, across the Lennox-King Glacier, is the Queen Alexandra Range. The range was named by the Ross Sea Committee for Sir Sidney Holland, who as Prime Minister of New Zealand supported that nation's participation in the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1956–58). William Frederick Longstaff (25 December 1879–1 July 1953) was an Australian painter and war artist best known for his works commemorating those who died in World War I. Birth and education Born in Ballarat, Victoria, Longstaff was educated at Grenville College, Ballarat, studying art at the Ballarat School of Mines and privately before joining the military and serving in the Boer War as a member of the South African Light Horse. He was the cousin of portrait painter Sir John Longstaff. Career and the First World War Upon returning to Australia, Longstaff continued to paint and teach art. He enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force at the outbreak of the First World War and was injured in the Gallipoli campaign. Tom George Longstaff (15 January 1875 – 26 June 1964) was an England, English medical doctor, explorer and mountaineer, most famous for being the first person to climb a summit of over 7,000 metres in elevation, Trisul, in the India/Pakistan Himalayas in 1907. Suzanne Kathryn Longstaff (née Ellis, born 14 June 1969) is a British teacher and former rower. Biography Longstaff attended Abbots Bromley School and then Durham University, graduating in 1990 with a degree in Economics. She coxed for Durham University Women's Boat Club as a student. Moorea Longstaff is a Canadian S7 classified para-swimmer. She won two medals as a group in the women's 4 x 100 metres freestyle open competition and individually in the women's 400 metres freestyle S7 event at the IPC Swimming World Championships in Christchurch, New Zealand in 1998. Longstaff went on to claim the bronze medal in the women's 400 metres freestyle S7 competition at the 2000 Summer Paralympics in Sydney, Australia.
