London Griffins
London Griffins RLFC is a rugby league club based in west London, England. The club play semi and full contact rugby league against opponents in London and throughout the UK. The club is open to all ages and standards and has attracted many who have never even played the sport before. Foundation London Griffins were formed in March 2005 as the supporters team of London Broncos and are now the London Broncos#2006–2011: Harlequins Rugby League, Harlequins RL supporters team. The club was formed as a social team to play against other such supporters teams. The Griffins name came from the London Broncos#2006–2011: Harlequins Rugby League, London Broncos former home ground at Griffin Park. The ground took its name from the Griffin in the logo of Fuller, Smith and Turner, Fuller's Brewery, which at one point owned the land on which the stadium was built. St Albans Centurions
The St Albans Centurions are a rugby league club based in St Albans, Hertfordshire. The club plays their home games at Toulmin Drive, St Albans and their clubhouse is in High Oaks, St Albans. Founded in 1996, they first played in various local leagues and the Rugby League Conference, and then, from 2003 to 2006, in National League 3. From 2007 to 2011, they played in the Rugby League Conference South Premier Division. 2007 & 2010 also saw the club win the 'Triple', the League Championship, the Southern Premiership Grand Final and the National Grand Final. In 2012 the club was invited to take part in the 'experimental' National Conference League Division Three, a one-season only trial by the RFL and NCL to see how amateur clubs cope with travelling all over England and Wales to play their games. London League (rugby League)
The London and South East Merit League is a rugby league competition founded in 1965. It is also known as the ''London League'' (LL), ''London, South and East Merit League'', ''London Amateur Rugby League'' (LARL) and ''London Merit League'' (LML). It is now one of four feeder leagues for the Rugby League Conference (RLC). There is also a London Junior League for youth teams. Structure The merit system, which gives its unofficial name to the league as the London Merit League, came about as a way to accommodate the needs of as many of clubs as possible. The "merit table" system gives teams, freedom to arrange as many or few games amongst the other league participants as they wish. The results of fixtures worked out between the teams are compiled into a league table based on average scores. The top six teams then go through to a play-off system to determine the champion club. The Sheffield Eagles are a professional rugby league club that play in the Betfred Championship. The club play their home games at the Olympic Legacy Park (OLP) on the former site of Don Valley Stadium, their former ground. The original club was formed in 1984 and formerly competed in the Super League. The new, current club was formed in 2000 following a merger of the old club with Huddersfield Giants. The London Skolars are a professional rugby league club based at the New River Stadium, Wood Green, Haringey in north London. They were founded in 1995 and have been professional since 2003, operating in the Betfred League 1. They also run an A-team (formerly known as ''Haringey Hornets'') that play in the South Premier Division of the Rugby League Conference. Sheffield Forgers RLFC is a rugby league club in Sheffield, England. It has an Open Age team that plays in the summer in thy Yorkshire Men's League. The genesis of the club dates back to summer 2004, when a group of Sheffield Eagles supporters decided to try their hand at playing rather than just watching. As the team, called Sheffield IMBRL, was open to anyone the standard of players was unknown so the initial concept was to provide games against other supporters teams.
