London Buses Route 30
London Buses route 30 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Hackney Wick and Marble Arch station, it is operated by Metroline. History By 1987 the route had been amended to run from Hackney to Earl's Court, taking about 75 minutes to complete the journey, at a frequency of one bus every 14 minutes. Driver-only operation was introduced in January 1987 with double-deckers, and three months later the route was reported to be carrying around 20,000 passengers per day. In June 2010, the route was revealed to be the sixth worst performing route in London. As a result of this, new bus priority measures were introduced on the route. Upon being re-tendered in 2010, the route was awarded to First London from 25 June 2011. On 22 June 2013, route 30 was included in the sale of First London's Lea Interchange garage to Tower Transit. Metroline is a bus operator operating primarily in Greater London and partially in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire. Kingsland, London
Kingsland was a small road-side settlement centred on Kingsland High Street on the Old North Road (the present A10), around the junction with Dalston Lane. It is no longer discernable as a separate settlement, though the historic street pattern remains. Hackney Central is a station on the Mildmay line of the London Overground, located in the London Borough of Hackney. It lies between and in Travelcard Zone 2. The station and the trains serving it are operated by Transport for London. The station is connected to Hackney Downs railway station, Hackney Downs station on the Weaver line of the Overground by a direct passenger walkway linking the two stations (replacing an earlier such link) that was opened in July 2015. The Alexander Dennis Enviro400 is a twin-axle low-floor double-decker bus that was built by the British bus manufacturer Alexander Dennis between 2005 and 2018. It replaced the Alexander ALX400 (from which the Enviro400 was developed). In 2014, the Enviro400 was succeeded by the updated Alexander Dennis Enviro400 MMC and production of the classic Enviro400 ceased in 2018. Tavistock Square is a public square in Bloomsbury, in the London Borough of Camden near Euston Station. History Tavistock Square was built shortly after 1806 by the property developer James Burton and the master builder Thomas Cubitt for Francis Russell, 5th Duke of Bedford, and formed part of the Bedford Estate in London, owned by the Dukes of Bedford. Hasib Mir Hussain (16 September 1986 – 7 July 2005) was a British citizen and one of four Islamist terrorists, suicide bombers who detonated bombs on three trains on the London Underground and one bus in central London during the 7 July 2005 London bombings. Hussain detonated a bomb on the London Buses route 30, No. 30 bus that exploded in Tavistock Square, killing 13 of the 52 people killed in the suicide bombings, and himself.
