Ivan Matteo Lombardo (22 May 1902 – 6 February 1980) was an Italian politician. Early life Lombardo was born in Milan in 1902. A budding young journalist, from 1920 to 1922 he was editor of the labour section of ''Avanti!'', the daily newspaper of the Italian Socialist Party (''Partito Socialista Italiano''; PSI). Following Benito Mussolini's assumption of power he was conscripted into the Italian army, serving in Libya until 1925. Massimo Lombardo (born 9 January 1973) is a former Swiss international footballer. He is currently the academy manager of Swiss side Servette FC. Senior career Lombardo has played over 300 games in the Swiss Super League. He started his career at Canton Ticino's team AC Bellinzona and moved to Grasshopper Club Zürich where he stayed for five seasons, his longest club cap. After a season at Serie B club AC Perugia, he moved back to Switzerland with stuns at FC Lugano, Lausanne-Sports and Servette FC. Manuel Lombardo (born 4 December 1998) is an Italian judoka. He is a two-time silver medalist at the World Judo Championships. He is also a gold medalist at both the Mediterranean Games and the European Judo Championships. Lombardo represented Italy at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan and the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France. Lucio Lombardo-Radice
Lucio Lombardo-Radice (Catania, 10 July 1916; Brussels, 21 November 1982) was an Italian mathematician. A student of Gaetano Scorza, Lombardo-Radice contributed to finite geometry and geometric combinatorics together with Guido Zappa and Beniamino Segre, and wrote important works concerning the Non-Desarguesian plane. He was also a leading member of the Italian Communist Party and a member of its central committee. Juan José Lombardo (19 March 1927 – 26 November 2019) was an Argentine vice admiral imprisoned for crimes against humanity. He was the commander-in-chief of the South Atlantic Theatre of Operations during the 1982 Falklands War. He was also the mastermind of the Argentine invasion of the Falklands. Lombardo was born in Salto, Buenos Aires in March 1927. Joseph Patrick Lombardo (born Giuseppe Lombardi; January 1, 1929 – October 19, 2019), also known as "Joey the Clown", was an American mobster and a high-ranking member of the Chicago Outfit crime organization. He was the ''Consigliere'' of the Outfit. Early life Lombardo was born on January 1, 1929, in Chicago, one of 11 children to Italian immigrants from Bari, Mike Lombardi, a butcher, and Carmela Lombardi. Lombardo, a high school dropout, at some point changed the final letter of his last name. He joined the Outfit in the 1950s. Early career Lombardo began his Outfit career as a jewel thief and as a juice loan collector.
