Logie Award For Most Popular Reality Program
The Logie for Most Popular Reality Program is an award presented annually at the Australian TV Week Logie Awards. The award recognises the popularity of an Australian reality program. The award was first awarded at the 42nd Annual TV Week Logie Awards ceremony, held in 2000. It was briefly renamed Best Reality Program (2016-2017). From 2018, the award category name was reverted to Most Popular Reality Program. The winner and nominees of ''Most Popular Reality Program'' are chosen by the public through an online voting survey on the ''TV Week'' website. The Logie Awards (officially the TV Week Logie Awards; colloquially known as The Logies) is an annual gathering to celebrate Australian television, sponsored and organised by the magazine '' TV Week''. The first ceremony was held in 1959 as the TV Week Awards. Awards are presented in twenty categories, representing both public and industry voted prizes. The Gold Logie is the most prestigious award and the industry's highest honour; it's awarded to the ''Most Popular Personality on Australian Television'' for the previous year. ''Big Brother Australia'' (also known simply as ''Big Brother'') is an Australian reality show based on the international ''Big Brother'' format created by John de Mol. Following the premise of other versions of the format, the show features a group of contestants, known as "housemates" who live together in a specially constructed house that is isolated from the outside world. The housemates are continuously monitored during their stay in the house by live television cameras as well as personal audio microphones. ''The Biggest Loser'' is an Australian reality television show, based on the original American version of the same name. It is produced by Shine Australia and screened on Network Ten. Since 2015, the show has been hosted by former contestant Fiona Falkiner, It was formerly hosted by Ajay Rochester from 2006 to 2009 & former Olympian Hayley Lewis from 2010 to 2014. ''My Restaurant Rules'' is an Australian reality television series that aired on the Seven Network. Overview The series pits five couples, one each from Australia's five largest cities, to compete against each other in opening a successful restaurant. In initial episodes of the show the couples are given a vacated restaurant space in their home city that must be renovated. They also compete for additional money that can be used for renovation from a panel of judges based on a presentation of their mission statement and plan for their proposed restaurant. The judges also make further appearances later on in the series in both critiquing the restaurants and offering rewards to the contestants.
