Logie Award For Most Popular Factual Program
The Logie for Most Popular Factual Program was an award presented annually at the Australian TV Week Logie Awards. It was given to recognise the popularity of an Australian factual program. The award was first awarded at the 50th Annual TV Week Logie Awards ceremony, held in 2008 when it was originally called Most Popular Factual Program. The award was discontinued after the 55th Annual TV Week Logie Awards in 2013, however the category was reinstated in 2016 at the 58th Annual TV Week Logie Awards. For the 2016 and 2017 ceremonies, it was renamed Best Factual Program before being permanently eliminated in 2018. The winner and nominees of Most Popular Factual Program are chosen by the public through an online voting survey on the ''TV Week'' website. The Logie Awards (officially the TV Week Logie Awards; colloquially known as The Logies) is an annual gathering to celebrate Australian television, sponsored and organised by the magazine '' TV Week''. The first ceremony was held in 1959 as the TV Week Awards. Awards are presented in twenty categories, representing both public and industry voted prizes. The Gold Logie is the most prestigious award and the industry's highest honour; it's awarded to the ''Most Popular Personality on Australian Television'' for the previous year. The award receives much publicity and media attention. Logie Awards Of 2017
The 59th Annual TV Week Logie Awards were held on Sunday 23 April 2017 at the Crown Palladium in Melbourne, and broadcast live on the Nine Network. Public voting for the Best Award categories began on 20 November 2016 and ended on 18 December 2016. Following the return of the Logie Award for Best Factual Program category at the 2016 Logie Awards, the 2017 Awards reinstated the category of Logie Award for Most Outstanding Factual or Documentary Program, which is not a publicly voted category. ''The World's Strictest Parents'' (or ''World's Strictest Parents'') is an international television franchise reality series developed by Twenty Twenty with its original broadcast in the United Kingdom by BBC Three.
